Having just watched the Fox News special on Sandy Burglar, I am absolutely livid about the Republicans incompetence in the justice department and in Congress in dealing with this issue. I just can't standby anymore and not try to do something. Accordingly, I have a solution that will begin to neutralize the effectiveness of the complicity of the phony Democrat investigations and the MSM reporting. As an example, I will discus how to handle the attorney firings issue and then will give a generalized formula for response.
In the upcoming investigation of Gonzales, all of the Republican questions should be on the Sandy Burger story. Ignore the phony manufactured attorney scandal. Do not mention it all. Instead ask such questions as: Who in the DOJ did what - with timelines? Why did the DOJ not inform the 9/11 commission on a timely basis? Why was Sandy Burger given a lenient sentence and by whom? Will you require a polygraph, and if not, then why not?
How the Republicans could have let this slide during their majority in the Congress is beyond me. (They clearly earned their way out of power.)
If Gonzales is not forthcoming to these questions, I would recommend that the Republicans ask for his resignation because of his lack of response to the Burger questions. If Gonzales is forthcoming then there should be much more revealed. At any rate, this will bring the issue back in the public eye.
In the response to the press including interviews on TV, the Republicans should just speak about the Burger issue. If the question is asked about the fired attorneys, the response should take it back to Burger with a questioning of the interviewer as to why they have not spoken much about this story. In fact, they should charge the interviewer, had this been a Republican, they would have had numerous hours on the Burger story. Case in point is how much the Plame story was discussed.
General Formula: In Congressional investigations, ignore phony issues and talk about and ask questions of the witness on the issues that we want to focus on.
As to the press, ignore their agenda and bring up our issues. Be aggressive and challenge the press.
Another example: The Iraq vote. Republicans should call the Democrats out and say if they want to end the war, they could defund the troops, otherwise, they are being phony in that they know the President will not accept the ridiculous conditions that have been never asked before and set a dangerous precedent. In addition, they should continue noting the pork. Ask the Democrats to put up or shut up. The media should be asked to challenge the Democrats on their sincerity. The Republicans should be relentless in pressing back on the interviewers.
In conclusion, let's stop acting like the pledges in Animal House who when paddled on their rears shouted out "Thanks, can I have another!".
Good luck on that one.
Not in this generation.
To paraphrase Tolkien: ""The world must change and some other power than ours must come before Reagan's folk walk again in America."
I'm pretty ignorant as far as the parliamentary procedures used in these Congressional hearings, but if the Republicans start asking a bunch of questions not relevant to the current investigations, can't Waxman just rule them out of order and have the sergeant at arms escort them out?
It does seem so obvious.
We live in a Jerry Springer society.
Republicans don't need to cater to the base, by being polite and dignified. The base is going to support them anyway.
Republicans need to play to that vast center, who respond more to trash talk and WWF wrestling, than to cerebral debate.
Republicans need to (immediately) start playing smashmouth hardball in-your-face attitude politics.
It will work. It's the only thing which will.
I so very wish they would start.
"Not in this generation."
I needed to at least try. I refuse to accept defeat.
"How To Take the Offensive Against The Democrats And The MSM."
Um...play Dem-lite?
"can't Waxman just rule them out of order and have the sergeant at arms escort them out?"
Lets assume yes. This would just elevate the Burger story.
The strategy is not just in the hearings. It is with the media as well.
The (R)s are not going to act any differently. They are a big part of the problem because this corrupt "Two-Party Cartel" is owned by the elites. It has guaranteed itself a president from either corrupt faction. It will nominate a globalist/CFR etc from each faction. It will indoctrinate its voters to vote, only showing that there is relevancy. I say a pox on both of their houses.
One tactical suggestion. MSM seditionists have the right of free speech as stated in the First Amendment. They do not have the right to use the public airwaves as a forum. Hence, broadcast stations are licensed, the public can challenge the renewal applications, and content can be an issue if it is demonstrably not in the public interest.
I recommend that we systematically challenge the license renewals of ALL ABC affiliates so long as the network continues to employ the enemy propagandist Rosie O'Donnell. Her pronouncements are demonstrably not in the public interest if we consider the safety of our troops overseas and the suppression of terrorism at home to be matters of public interest.
We own the airwaves. We don't have to allow this enemy beast to spew her poison on them any more than we have to permit it in our living rooms. She can buy a soapbox and set it up on her own property or in a duly-designated area of a public park with the other nuts.
I really share your frustration. There seems to be no one in the Whitehouse or Republican leadership who understands media or how to craft a message. You would think that if they couldn't come up with an effective plan and someone to execute it, they would at least realize that they need to hire someone who can.
I'm just utterly amazed at the complete incompetence.
Sorry to burst your bubble but I believe you are starting from the wrong premise. "Incompetence" has nothing to do with it. It all comes down to brazen dishonesty. Sad to say, but the corruption of the Bush Justice Department makes me throw up in my mouth a little.

In order for a seed to sprout meaning fruit.........it must die.
Otherwise it just lays there with the rest of the dirt until you can't tell the difference between dirt and seed.
meaning = meaningful
I think just the threat of doing that during this witch hunt may cause the Dems to cancel the who boondoggle... I mean all they are doing with this whole made up controversy is trying to score more political points in the 08 run-up.
I think it is a great Idea.
Let the AG in on it too so when the chair says... "Strike these questions they are irrelavent" Then the AG says no I think I will answer this and elaborate on that etc. etc..
??
Same thing...
