Article III, Section 3, Paragraph 1, of the Constitution of the United States:
"
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them,
or, in adhering to their Enemies, giving them aid and comfort."
The "aid and comfort" prong of treason has been interpreted
by SCOTUS as requiring proof of four elements:
1. an intent to betray the United States (which can be inferred from);
2. an overt act;
3. witnessed by two people; and
4. that provides aid and comfort to an enemy of the United States.

Why would Frau Pelosi not go visit her friends in the land of al-Qaeda?

Actually, it was for Cesar Estrada Chavez, who was a union leader. But, it's still a valid point, why not give Jimmy Hoffa a holiday too...sure he was corrupt, but he did do a lot for labor unions...and when has corruption ever stopped a Democrat from being honored in this country?
To: txroadkill
Oh, it was Chavez? I remembered that wrong. :-(
There's a reason the Democrats don't want to fix the schools and it's because they depend on ignorance to get votes and they depend on that ignorance to later translate into low paying jobs so people will depend on government handouts which also translates into Democrat votes.

The one thing that I love about college students (at least it is this way in most of the colleges in Texas) is that for each year that you attend, the less liberals there are around you, by the time you're a graduate student, the only liberals left are the instructors.

Yes, we can hope the grandstanding granny's display of "responsibility" and "competence" will vaccinate us against a Rathole president and almost certainly against a woman president. (There are NO Margaret Thatchers in our current menagerie of political women.)

Others traveling with Pelosi were Democratic Reps. Keith Ellison of Minnesota, Henry Waxman and Tom Lantos of California, Louise Slaughter of New York and Nick Rahall of West Virginia, and Ohio Republican David Hobson. Ellison is the first Muslim member of Congress. You know? I wonder how the US would react if they were taken hostage by elements of Iran? I could see Iran trying this through their 'ally' Syria or their catspaws Hezbolluh.

And if she is taken hostage, how much do you want to bet that she'll be praying in her jail cell that her dear old buddy in the White House, Uncle Sam, will come to her rescue.
In the second, what in the world does she think she's doing and how does doing something so absurdly counter to the advice of the State Department have anything at all to do with being Speaker of the House?
Doesn't she have more relevant business to take care of?

Hey, I completely agree with you. Fortunately, college will, for the most part bring them around. The more you learn, the less liberal you get. But, unfortunately again, the last census said that only 1 in every 4 Americans have a bachelors degree...but on the upside, we make up the majority of actual voters.

Bush: "I'm sorry, but we don't negotiate with terrorists. Thank you for calling though."

No problem. She goes to Syria, she gets to stay in Syria permanently.
To: Peach
Yes, and it really says something when even the leftist State Department says not to go.

Please notice I am NOT calling for it to happen, just thinking that seldom have so many scum gotten together in a single airplane. Ahh, the champagne situation: Something you wouldn't do yourself, wouldn't advocate anyone else doing it, BUT, if it happened you'd open the biggest, best bottle of champagne that night. I'll even break my rule against buying French for this one.

"In our view, it is not the right time to have these sort of high- profile visitors to Syria," State Department spokesman Sean McCormack told reporters Friday. Can't the State Department just say "no" to her trip? I don't understand this.
To: Thom Pain
The likelihood of that happening, unfortunately, is remote. But could she be impeached as a representative because she is consorting with the enemy under the Logan Act. If I'm not mistaken, what she is doing is a felonious act.
