"U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will visit Damascus next week for talks with Syrian officials, a U.S. Embassy official said Friday, making her the highest-ranking American politician to come to Syria since relations began souring in 2003.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media, said Pelosi would be leading a delegation of members of Congress and would arrive on Tuesday and leave Wednesday."

Wonder what she'll promise them in exchange for their continuing to harbor/arm etc. AQ "freedom fighters"?

Pelosi is such a coniving traitor to this nation. I hope the Syrians are stupid enough to hold her hostage for ransom. I'd pay them to keep her.

Pelosi is just following the old adage: the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Shame she hates Bush more that she "loves" America.

They always have been. The Left loved Hitler -- until he attacked the Soviets, that is.

If, hypothetically, she were to be kidnapped there, I wonder whether and how her thoughts regarding the utility of the military would change.

Psst ... Nancy; this might not be the week you want to be traveling in the middle east. Just a hunch.

This essentially screws the military - they'll be strung up if shooting starts and Pelosi is hurt or held captive, and it would certainly be noticed if they suddenly asked her not to go. Witch!

"If, hypothetically, she were to be kidnapped there..."

I'm still trying to think of the downside. The only thing I can come up with is that it would put some of our special forces in jeopardy trying to save her skinny, traitorous, good-for-nothing @$$.

Maybe Jay Rockefeller's going along too since he's gotten in bed with the Syrians before.

Like Jsy Rockefeller before her, she's probably going to leak informationt that she recieved from the House Intelligence Committee on US military intentions in the area.

That's what I'm worried about.
