My guess is that it's rather inert in the digestive system. I suppose depending on the particle size it could be dangerous with regard to physical damage to the animal.

That's what I'd think. Shouldn't it just pass through? Seems pretty inert. In huge quantities I suppose it might cause a blockage? But it should pass...?

I really don't know but why were all the pets having sypmtoms of rat poison?
IS this a CYA by the FDA because of all the articles coming out about the wheat gluten and where it is in human food. Why do they have the CDC on alert for kidney failure in people. Wheat gluten used in high fiber breads, tofu and other foods.
