Alright, FRiends. It's time to walk the talk. It's time to find out whether your faith is or isn't greater than your politics. THIS is the proving ground, and here is the test:
Please pray for Elizabeth Edwards. Pray that the Hand of God will strengthen her as she undergoes treatment. Pray that she will be able to be strong for her children. Pray that her treatment will be inordinately successful; that the grace and mercy of the LORD will be poured out upon her in miraculous healing. Pray that she will be aware from whence her help comes; that she will be drawn to her Healer in the new birth of eternal life. Pray that this bout with cancer will be, for Elizabeth Edwards, her husband, and her children, THE defining and transforming event in ALL of their lives; revolutionizing their understanding of The Holy, and bringing them into fellowship with Him.
Praying for Mrs. Edwards is easy. If we really want to pray for our enemies, let's all say a prayer for Bin Laden, Castro, Ahmadinejad, that they have a change of heart.
The growth is ON his liver, and not IN his liver, which makes a huge difference in their ability to surgically remove it.
Thank you for posting! Cancer is the great equalizer. Elizabeth Edwards and her family are in my prayers always. May God keep Mrs. Edwards and her family in the palm of his hand as she fights this terrible disease. My father had colon cancer and I would not wish cancer on any family, no matter what their belief system is. The Edwards family is in my prayers.
Nor can I, but I think that it's one thing to not speak ill of someone in dire straits, and it's quite another to go out of one's way to pray for them. I'm convinced that the praying folk of FR are the kind who will do the latter, as many already have been, and that others who have not been will also pray if it is only suggested to them. So, we differentiate ourselves; not out of a false display of piety, but out of hearts of true faith and godliness.
Politics have absolutely nothing to do with God's love and desire to bring others to Himself through His Son.
Most importantly, I pray that her heart is right with Him.

We made a point fo it for Mrs Edwards too, as soon as the word got out.

I meant "made a point of it" as in "posted a thread for the expressed purpose". I hadn't seen one for Mrs. Edwards. Was there one already?

I see Edward's poll numbers have improved since the cancer announcement.
She is in my prayers. I was heartsick for them.
When the announcement was first made the thread became a prayer thread for Mrs. Edwards and the whole family.
It was also filled with shock and outrage when it became known that he was going to continue to campaign for the presidency rather than spend time with his wife and family.
Talk about "upping the ante"... Say on!
I think that one of the hardest things we do is get down and for real PRAY FOR those nefarious types who seem to work overtime to do evil, to be ruthless; those kingpins on the world stage who we so readily dislike -- hate, even.
BUT, you're right; we've got no excuse to not do it.
I've prayed for Mrs. Edwards and her family, and I will continue to do so. What good are we as decent human beings and/or Christians if we aren't willing to walk the walk of compassion and goodness.
