As my frustration with the state of Massachusetts grows, I found out a few days ago that my 14 year old daughter has the chicken pox. Shortly thereafter, I was enlightened to the fact that there were a number of cases of the virus being endured by kids of all ages in my daughter's school system. A small epidemic. Now before evoking judgment for posting such a boring thread, here's the punch line. Most of the cases are repeats. That's right, many of the kids have already had the chicken pox, including my daughter.
Now that I've got your attention, let me go a little further with this. Back in November, a healthy, beautiful, vibrant, intelligent and active young lady of 14, was stricken by an unknown aliment. She went into a coma, and on February 2, passed away after a multitude of complications caused by the virus destroying her internal organs. Doctors have no clue as to what it was, and probably never will.
We live in a country with medical care that's second to none. In the past, if you had the chicken pox, you didn't get them again, period. We used to have chicken pox parties so we could it over with, remember? And how can a healthy, strong, young girl, be so aggressively, and incurably attacked, and succomb while in the care of one of the most respected hospitals in the world (Children of Boston).
At the risk of being a politically incorrect conspiracy theorist thug. At the risk of having my tongue torn out and eyes gouged out by the Duval, Kennedy, Kerry, cronie liberals of this state, I'm going to offer one explanation that may explain both instances.
Over the last five years or so, my town has been invaded by illegals from Brazil, Guatemala, and Equador. You can't drive down main street without counting 50 of them. They gather by the hundreds on Sundays in our town parks to the point where the parks are unusable by the people who pay the taxes to maintain them. They come here from rain forests and mountains without medical screening, carrying who knows what. They throw their kids into our school system where they hack and wease whatever they're carrying for all to breathe in. When is it going to stop? Why are my tax dollars paying for the education of people who are making my kids sick? Is it so unreasonable for me to theorize that they may be carrying strains of sicknesses that we haven't seen before? Am I so cynical to believe that this may have crossed minds of the experts, but at the risk of being politically incorrect, has not been introduced as a viable possibility?
I hope this thread finds the eyes of someone who may be in a position to underscore, in a public forum, this subject as a potentially catastrophic effect of illegal immigration. My states government doesn't care about the cost of supporting illegals. They don't care about the increased crime rate at the hands of illegals. They don't care if we're hit and killed by unlicensed driver illegals. They don't care that illegals are taking jobs that used to pay decent money for peanuts. They don't care that most of that money is going back "home". They just plain are putting the welfare of these ILLEGAL immigrants before the welfare of the people who are paying their salary.
Maybe they'll bat an eye if someone can convince them that they might be silently killing our kids.
That's really interesting. My grandmother has been taking lysine for many years and swears that it is keeping her from having cold sores. As far as I know, she hasn't had one in many years. Guess there is something to it after all.

It has worked for me for over 35 years.
My Dad developed Shingles after having to give up milk due to lactose intolerance.
The Docs doing the research said that they had shown that we don't get enough Lysine in us if we don't drink milk.
I've been Lactose intolerant since College, and started using Lysine after talking with these researchers. I have not had an outbreak since.
I have a friend who used to get horrible cold sores and since he was a vitamin nut, he was baffled that he'd get these cold sores. I told him about the Lysine, and now he faithfully takes 1000 mg every day and hasn't had an outbreak since.
I am not a Doctor and I do not play one on TV. I make no lawful representations about this working. But hey- it's worked for everyone I've ever told about it.

Being French, I eat cheese on a daily basis, have daily(whole) milk cappuccinos, swill buttermilk, have yogurt at breakfast just about every day and butter my cheese. I must get more than ample lysine.

Forgot to mention that chicken pox isn't trivial. A girl from the town I grew up in, died from complication from the chicken pox. She was 11 I think and developed pneumonia.
Makes sure your kids know to never ever eat from someone else's food, or drink from their drink. We lost several kids at our high school due to spinal meningitis this way. Very sad. They had been to a party and some weren't supposed to have been there, so when the first girl died, others were afraid to come foreward. They eventually set up private screenings, but still lost others.
Our doctor told us just the opposite. It isn't rare and the second time is worse. The older you are the worse they are. Second time around or if you are older you can get them under your eye lids, in your ears, inside your mouth.
That's odd, I'd always heard that it was the other way around.
Yes it is, I love it here. Except for the fact that I'm increasingly wondering what country I'm in when I go out. Illegals are everywhere here in rural Southwest VA. Whenever I have to suffer through a trip to the local wal-mart on a Sunday afternoon, I'd say easily half the people in there are Hispanic. I have yet to hear one speak English. It's worse at the Doctor's office in the waiting area. At our local hospital last year 45% of all births were to hispanic people and 95% of them were on medicaid, after the children were born of course. They aren't citizens and don't qualify for services until the child is born. Social workers are waiting at the hospital to get them signed up. I grew up around here and when I was a kid I never saw hispanics around here, ever. This has all transpired in the last 12 or so years.
I'm afraid that the truth is that the illegals are everywhere.
It was a year ago I think, I saw an article about "caravans" of vehicles that transported illegals out of Texas where they might get caught (we wish) to NC, SC and VA. I groaned. Ath t time I still lived in No. VA and Manassas was becoming "little Chihuahua or however the heck you spell it. Little Mexico, anyway. You can't go anywhere in Manassas that you don't see them, still very brown from the sun, speaking Spanish and being shown around the stores by someone who has been here 3 minutes longer than they - where "their" products are in the stores- the foods they like to buy. Yuk.
