Russian military intelligence services are reporting a flurry of activity by U.S. Armed Forces near Iran's borders, a high-ranking security source said Tuesday.
"The latest military intelligence data point to heightened U.S. military preparations for both an air and ground operation against Iran," the official said, adding that the Pentagon has probably not yet made a final decision as to when an attack will be launched.
He said the Pentagon is looking for a way to deliver a strike against Iran "that would enable the Americans to bring the country to its knees at minimal cost."
He also said the U.S. Naval presence in the Persian Gulf has for the first time in the past four years reached the level that existed shortly before the invasion of Iraq in March 2003.

...but will they actually DO anything more than look across the border?
We like to think of it as a "surge".
It could well be that they are being positioned to respond to a ground assualt by Iran when the bomb start flying.
We have a name for that. We call them "guided munitions."
The first wave should be a smart bomb through the bedroom window of every mullah in the country at about 4 am.
Pinch of salt.
Have to say that would be catastrophic for Iran. Tragic and stunning, too.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm
Russians stirring the pot if you ask me. I don't trust them at all. My bet is they are telling the "truth" and at the same time giving away our secrets, at the same time they are pissing off Iran.
Hillary herself a few months back said we need to do something about Iran.
Very strange that the Russia is the "good cop" and the US is the "bad cop" in this episode.
I would not want to be an Iranian infantryman facing our air power.
I like to think of it as our getting ready to "exit" Iraq through Iran.

Someone must have let the Ruskies see the big board.
Once upon a time, one would know something was going down when the pizza orders to the Pentagon multiplied by X times.
anybody familiar with this Russian source.
assuming its true, then the Iranians probably are starting to feel a little squeezed with the naval presence in the Gulf and along their borderS. Maybe pressured enough to do something rash . . . like snag 15 UK sailors
Iran would have to be insane to try. They might be.
I have not authorized any actions w/respect to Iran.
