24% Consider Al Gore Global Warming Expert March 24, 2007

Al Gore Former Vice President Al Gore (D) received a warm welcome on Capitol Hill last week for his testimony on the environment and Global Warming. However, while his film is now an Academy Award winner and he is a celebrity activist, just 24% of Americans consider Gore an expert on Global Warming. A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of 1,000 adults found that 47% say he is not an expert on the topic (see crosstabs).

In fact, just 36% of Americans say that Gore knows what he is talking about when it comes to the environment and Global Warming. Thirty-one percent (31%) say he does not know what he is talking about while 33% are not sure. Women, by a 2-to-1 margin, say Gore knows what he is talking about. Men, by a similar margin, say he does not. (More Below)

"Why did you not use the title "47% do not consider Gore an expert on global warming" instead the one you did?"

Because that is the headline of the story.

I should have put in paragraphs on the side. Perhaps a mod can fix it.

I dont know whether men are smarter than women, but as a woman, I'll admit that many women are easily manipulated, and are eager to always take the PC side. I think that many women will choose the majority opinion (or at least what they think is the majority) because they think it is safer and makes them less apt to be confronted. Women are much less willing to defend a territory or a place whether it be a physical or a mental position. The only exception is when an offspring is threatened. So it is less threatening to just go along with all this GB nonsense.

Why else would women be unwilling to confront the evil of radical Islam which seeks to return women to a slave position and total subjugation with no freedoms? This is especially true of the so-called feminists. It makes no sense.

Whenever I talk to liberal women, I tell tham that the radicals are coming to get them, not themselves, but their daughters and granddaughters. They need to be prepared to put on burkas if they persist in supporting this liberal nonsense.

"Women, by a 2-to-1 margin, say Gore knows what he is talking about."

These women really are too gullible to vote. They must have an IQ smaller than their bust size.

This must be a survey of the audience of "The View". The same margins think Rosie has insightful things to say.

And who think that Billy Donovan would be stupid enough to leave Florida for Kentucky.

I resemble those remarks! I moved to Lexington, Kentucky last May, after 40 years in Orlando, and so far I don't think it was a mistake.

"But still the fact that 24% consider him one is alarming."

I believe it was Kyle Brazlafski who said that 25% of Americans are absolute morons.

Isn't the lunatic left fringe about 33% of the country...

That means that 1/3rd of the lunatic left don't agree with Don Gore, the Mafioso, climate credit/protection racket seller, family boss.

Great news!!!!

"Wait a minute... If Men think one thing 2-to-1 and Women think the opposite 2-to-1, shouldn't the aggregate be roughly 50-50%?"

No, because 33% had no opinion, so the sum of all the people who think he does or does not know what he is talking about is only 67%. Of those 67%, about half are men and half are women.

The most confrontational women I have been around are the hard-core feminist types. One night about ten years ago I was at a party of IBM Consulting Group people and two of my friends, each retired Marine officers, and I were discussing our military service. One of the overbearing feminists present barged into the conversation and got very confrontational, telling us there was no valid reason that women shouldn't be in service and the services should use affirmative action promotions to put them in command of every kind of unit. One of my Marine colleagues told her, "I'll accept women in combat if they will not hesitate when I order them to charge and bayonet that wounded enemy soldier." I thought we were going to have a riot at that point.

I always thought increased solar activity, our oceans and volcano's blowing up were the primary caused of global warming. And what we do as human beings is rather insignificant to global climate change.
In any event I would love to see global warming up here in maine. Our springs have been a wet, cold mess the past couple of years. So if Mr. Gore and prove to me that man is causing global warming, I'll do whatever I can to speed it along. Maybe holde a pro-global warming rally on earth day, with aerosol sprays, barbecues and gas guzzling SUV the main attraction. This would be an improvement over the crappy singers they have at all their brain-dead rallies.

I watched most of "An Inconvenient Truth" on HBO or Showtime.

I disagree vehemently with him on all things, especially Globe Bull Warming.

That being said, if he had shown the electorate that side of him, however slickly packaged it is, he very well could have beaten President Bush in 2000.

He was at ease, comfortable with his subject matter and projected confidence. If he had done that during the debates alone, projecting the same image on other issues, instead of showing his asinine side, we very well could have lost 2000.

I think we do ourselves a disservice underestimating him or dismissing him.

My 2 cents. Flame away as you see fit.

OH I do not underestimate or dismiss him.

I say continue to engage the target vigorously. Things like this poll show he is not getting away with it because of that. He is not a scientist. He is a sleazy politician looking to ride the global warming social concern wave on a political surfboard. And he is trying to make waves for his own agenda with some success.
