The latest USA Today/Gallup poll, conducted Friday through Sunday, on the presidential race is out, and it's a humdinger. It's hard to say what the headline even is. Here are a few tries, though:
* Romney's support drops to within the margin of error of not existing (that's 3% support in a poll where the margin of error is 3%).
* Giuliani's support drops 13 percentage points since the last USA Today/ Gallup poll, March 2-4 (that's gotta hurt).
* Fred Thompson (not running, by the way) is now the No. 3 in the GOP field, at 12%.

"Thread hijacking tends to be the MO of the single issue zealots."
Yeah, I agree. Maybe you could get those Rudybots to put a stop to it.

I sure hope you're right.
But polls like this may encourage Thompson and Gingrich to get in the race, even if they're questionable. The left is so manipulative.

No way . If Rudy is heading up the ticket , forget it. He's anti-gun and we are not nominating an anti-gunner to head the ticket .

Gingrich is smart , hopefully smart enough to realize that he would stand no chance at winning the general election .

If Fred is over-the-hill, Rudy must be under-the-hill. The proof will be in the pudding to be sure, with Fred going uphill and Rudy down. It is already happening. As to whether Fred will run, he has said he is open to that possibility, and I believe him.

Nazi genocide is the same as abortion.Thats what makes Rudy such a tough sell to (parts of) the base.. Still, if he picks a mainstream VP candidate, he may have a shot. I just dont know.. Romney is more mainstream but hes got that Mormon cult thing going. And Thompson...dont even get me going on that guy. (And McCain is a nonstarter , to me)

Comparing one wrong to another doesn't make the first any better. Two wrongs remain just that: two wrongs. You substitute sarcasm for substance.

Sadly Gingrich is a brillant fizzle according to Tom Delay, every new day he had another appraoch, a character flaw for firm leadership!

The nation is already in a culture war. Nothing will change that.
It's just a question of who wins, and who loses.
You want those with a psychopathic need to kill preborn babies to win.
I want the right to protect preborn babies to win.
To: restornu
No doubt , Gingrich is totally suited for think tank activities. The public arena as a candidate , no .

As to whether Fred will run, he has said he is open to that possibility, and I believe him. Why that's just fine. You should be very proud, indeed. I'd like to give you a list of things I am open to the possiblity of, so that you'll belive me, too, by gosh. Because I think it is doggone important -- no, more than just doggone, it's dagnabbed important -- to believe a person when that person says he is open to something. Especialy when that person is not a dirty rotten LIBRUL like that dirty rotten gun grabbin' baby killin' LIBRUL Rudy the dirty LIBRUL LIBRUL LIBRUL. Oh, and also RINO.
To: Giant Conservative
How did I compare one wrong to another? Rudy using conservative fiscal principles plus a kick ass competence accomplished wonders for the NYcity economy
Where the current crew of Repubs have successfully ...in latest polling ....convinced 60% of the American electorate that the GOP is now the party of big spending...and you know what the electorate is right.
To: Torie; narses
Equating abortions to Jewish death camps offends this secular WASP. How deliciously ironic given that both of these recent abominations were devised and perpetrated primarily by secular WASP's just like yourself.
To: Neu Pragmatist
What Rudy did as Mayor of NYC was necessary to clean up the crime so normal citizens could walk out on the streets when they wanted. Many here have exaggerated, to conveniently tilt opinions their way, what powers the President has when it comes to domestic issues. I and many of my pals are lifetime members of the NRA and not one of us have any fears that Rudy would take our guns away from us as long as we followed the rules and regulations that are already set up and have been for a long time.
