I don't necessarily like what she's doing; I do recognize her right to do it. If you know you're going to die, then make an effort to die well.

No one is denying she has a right to do it. But what does that say of her humanity and of the humanity of those who are so indifferent? I have been lucky not to have to watch a loved-one die from cancer. So perhaps you can tell me how one "dies well". We're not talking about someone who had lived a long life and had reared his children. We're talking about a man who still has a wife and children that need him and love him. I don't know how "noble" I would be if I were going to my grave, with children still dependent on me, knowing that there was a chance denied to my by my own sister.
