A fawning mainstream media
Where Eagles dare, pacifists doctor and dupe
By Judi McLeod

My friend Jackie Gordon, who exposes anti-war ANSWER for their lies on the Internet, wants to know about pictures posted on their website that appear to be doctored.
As we all know by now, the ragtag, loose knit and lovable vets called The Gathering of Eagles changed history in Washington D.C. on March 17. Traveling in great numbers from far distances, they outnumbered ANSWER three to one--but a fawning mainstream media failed to report the facts, as usual taking the side of ANSWER.
Well, Jackie it is not the "doctored" that so much matters to me but the "duped".
In pictures from anti-war protests of late, I'm seeing more women turning out in burqas. I can't say for certain whether they are actually the women of the enemy, or university students who callously don the dress of the enemy in an effort to get straight to the heart of anyone who has a daughter or son fighting for freedom in harm's way. Has anyone noticed how the so-called "9/11 truthers" keep showing up at anti-war protests?......

I live 300 miles away! You knew that, right?
Somebody's not telling it straight. Either the National Park Service is back in the crowd estimating business or...
Nope. I stand corrected.
See how easy that is?
They do estimate, they just dont realese formal estimates after the Louis Farrakahn 100,000 man fiasco...
So, what you get from them is their estimate...unofficial of course...
***They are Americans. They back down from no one.***
We need more friends in Canada like this.
If you're in front of the Lincoln Memorial, you see the Reflecting Pool, the Washington Monument, and the White House, in that order.
I got the same estimate from Capt.Bailey by cell phone on Sat. the 17th around 2:30.
Here's something you both might appreciate, courtesy of Citizen Smash
Yeah, he pinged me.
The pictures are both from D.C. - and while the photographer might have played with the lense length to make it appear there were more people .. there's nothing we can do about that .. except let the media group who took the pictures that we noticed how they shot the picture.
I'm sorry .. I don't post for the whackos ..!!
The trees do indicate the Northeast - and I believe DC is pretty close to the Northeast!!
Just my 2 cents. but pulled the picture out did some conditioning to it, then compared to the hybrid image of DC off of Google maps. There are only three items in the area that have anything beginning to look like a spire as that seen in the picture. And positioning them in the photo would have resulted in additional clutter not present. at the closest magnification I could get, am having a hard time picking out anything that looked like the lamp posts in the region they were supposed to be. Never having been to DC, I have to rely on the sources available, and after having looked the area over on the satellite photos, can't say I am convinced of the authenticity.
I would say definately a telephoto shot, which will compress distances between objects. Does seem to be a sharp drop-off in color, though I have seen a few incidences of this occuring, especially with the use of a telephoto and if there is a dip in between say the last of the protestors and the treeline behind
Well .. I believe it's in D.C - and the NPS said there were about 8,000 of the moonbats.
The picture was taken from the same place .. the reason you cannot see the "spire" is because they cropped it off at the top.
The picture was taken at the brige which leads into Arlington. The lamp posts were the same in both pictures. I think you're just trying to find something .. but I'm telling you there is nothing. The bridge has a grade to it so the remaining protestors are not visable over the horizon of the bridge's road.
Yeah, I know ANSWER does phoney pictures. But .. think about it .. they didn't have any reason to do that .. they weren't expecting the GOE to show up. The best they could do was lie about how many people WE had.
I don't doubt that ANSWER will lie about it again or phoney more pictures .. but I think you're making a mountain out of a molehill.
No ticket in the fight. Saw the controversy and decided to take a look at it from the outside. Always love a problem, how I make my living.
I never have given ANSWER much cred. They raised their head prior to the ware with a protest in Nashville. I decided to look into them, and found they shared the same mailing address as the Tennesse contingent of the Communist party, and a couple of names were tied between the groups.
There are some who are sincere in their opposition, but they fall prey to groups such as this which are essentially tools to project power via those who are uninformed
Glad to hear that GOE had such a good turnout.
Actually, I believe DC is south of the Mason Dixie line, putting it in the south east, just barely. Sorry that I do not know how to upload a picture thtough the interface here. I pulled the one here, increased the contrast and saturation, and it brings out the background dramatically. Further leads me to believe this is not DC, based on the satellite images and what I see in the image, as well as trying to guess the direction the picture was taken. If the people were in the area as shown in the diagram above, and assuming they are looking at the stage, the photo would have to have been taken with the camera pointed nort-northwest. This would put the general direction of the background in the direction of Teddy Roosevelt Island. Still don't see those features.
Well...it is DC.
Now here is a photo that I took just moments before they go onto the bridge. Notice the woman with the white headband in the doctored photo. Then look at her in my photo. She is not located anywhere in the photo with the same people in the doctored photo. Also you can see how the crowd is not at big as a full on shot. I also want to point out in the doctored photo that behind the woman are people wearing neon vests for crowd control. These people were located at the FRONT of the protest, not in the middle. But in my photo they are no where to be found. I find it hard to believe that she ran all to the front of the protest as they crossed the bridge.
Also, Here is the quote from UPI
WAP20070317701 Thousands of protesters walk from the Lincoln Memorial towards the Pentagon to protest the the fourth anniversary of the start of the Iraq War, in Arlington, Virginia on March 17, 2007. This protest met at the starting point of the massive 1967 anti-Vietnam War march on the Pentagon. Photographer: ALEXIS C. First of all, my pic was taken at 1:05 PM and theirs was at 2:25 PM. There is NO way that she went to the front of the parade and the parade took that long to cross the bridge. Second, if they were coming back from the Pentagon media sources showed that only about 1000 stayed to listen to the speakers while MOST of the protesters took the metro and did not cross back over the bridge. There is definatly something fishy about that photo.

I was there on the 17th, and all I can say with any certainty is we had the commies outnumbered by at least two to one, probably more.
There are only three items in the area that have anything beginning to look like a spire as that seen in the picture. One of them is Georgetown University. In Georgetown. In the District. |
