President Bush has to know this, but does nothing.

So if he doesn't care, why should anyone else?

I really do not understand the man.

I cling to the thought that we aren't aware of what actions he is or has been taking.

It'd be risky to without hard evidence. Until then, he's better off debunking the myth that the Iraqi WMD program was the sole casus belli for the war.

Caleprnia: Thanks for the ping.

Airborne: The problem is that the President and none in the intelligence agencies are not 100% sure that the WMD or precursors to the WMD were moved out of Iraq by the Russians or others.

I still believe that Saddam regime buried the precursors to make Chemical Weapons in the Western Desert, the Anbar province. In fact it was better for them to produce and bury the precursors rather than the final chemical weapons product, because A: it will last longer and it take only few days to make the final product once the precursors are available, and B: they can always claim it is for industrial use since all these precursors are dual use materials.

I found a document that I did not publish on FR and I will not because of security concerns where there is a hint about possible places in the desert where they can bury the precursors for Chemical Weapons. Back in September of last year I informed the CIA via their website and the Military intelligence via e-mail about this document and the possibility that it may be a burial place for precursors to make Chemical Weapons.

I think he knows it, but can't publicize to the American people that he knows the Russians did it, since it would poison any future hope he has to swing the Russians back out of the Soviet-ish path they've resumed.

Informing the American public of such a profound backstab would have a national momentum that Bush would not be able to reverse, and would completely jeopardize his laudable yet hopelessly naive hope of bringing Russia into the orb of the West.

Meanwhile, I think Putin is quite aware of Bush's naive hopes concerning his commitment to democracy, and is cynically using it to position Russia against the US without cost or repercussions.

The coming war with Iran will decidedly expose Putin as an enemy of the West.
