Hagel is going off the deep end on Steffie's program.

The "impeachment" word is mentioned, but he's not quite ready to go there yet. Says the President isn't listening to the "will of the people."

The President should, I guess, do whatever the trumped up polls tell him to do.

But don't you agree that when an overt act such as kidnapping 15 British sailors in international waters is done, not to respond in-kind, in an area of the world surrounded by terrorists, will be viewed by them as a sign of weakness and thus only encourage more?

In a word, no. The terrorists are already kidnapping people in Iraq and elsewhere. The point is that it is the nation of Iran that seized these people, not a rogue terrorist group. Although, there is the distinct possibility that the Revolutionary Guard initiated the action without the approval or authority of Ahmadinejad. This could have been approved directly by Supreme Leader Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

I actually think this HURTS Edwards. Rather then gartering him sympathy it is making people wonder "What is this callous clown doing running for President while his wife is dying"?

I actually think this HURTS Edwards.

It does! My die hard lib daughter is furious with Edwards for staying in the race. She said , "it proves he is only in it for the power".

I'll keep chipping away at her. SHE WILL BE SAVED! :o)

"BUT I did not miss nor will I watch the Sunday talking heads."

Then why are you here and commenting (supposedly) on that of which you know not.

The seizure of the boarding party carries echoes of an incident in June 2004 when a group of eight marines and sailors were held for three days after being seized by the Iranians in the Shatt al-Arab waterway.

They were paraded blindfolded on television and later freed.

You are exactly right,I think Iran was two months behind when the ruskies gave him his repo notice. I think it's 25 mill per month or something like that, question remains however how to handle this situation of kidnapping the 15 Britts, next time it could be us.

Hold a Press Conference. Put up big blow up pictures of various Iranian "secret" bunkers, Presidential Offices, Secret Police HQs etc. Tell them they have 12 hours to turn the sailors over to us or the UN or we are going to destroy each of the building listed. 12 hours after that, we will start hitting the personal homes of each of the Mullahs, commanders of the Revolutionary Guards, Defense Ministers and other leadership cadre of the Iranian Govt. Remind the Iranian leaders that if even one hair on the head of even one sailor is mussed it will be considered i a war crime for which they will be prosecuted in the same manner Saddam was.

No, I and the other conservatives in the area have beaten him down, to where he doesnt even talk about that car anymore. He is a college professor (naturally), so he cant really help it. I met him when he moved into the neighborhood with his ugly wife who hates me, but is hot for me at the same time. She always has something to say about my Rush Limbaugh bumper sticker, yet keeps asking me to take her fishing...

Maybe if she had better floatation devices?

Exactly how I feel, he has plenty of Money, and they are both Attorneys. His Wife is doing this for him, in the notion that he will never get the chance again, and she could not take that away from him even if it cost her the rest of her life. I believe it is too early for them to be thinking straight. There is no way that a hectic campaign and days away from a sick wife and Young Children is good for anyone involved. They both sound unrealistic and a bit nuts. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and wait a few weeks while they have time to get off their heels from the punch in the stomach they just received before I will rethink their motivation. Right now it is just too early to make life altering decisions on such a huge dilemma. Right now he looks icky to me, and I never liked him before this matter arose.

Woo hoo!

LOL You would be amazed at what living on your own and paying bills only using your salary will do for a person's politics. She's young, she'll see things differently as she gets older and more used to taking care of her own responsibilities.

Chuck Hagel is an abomination.

Every Senator thinks that they should be President, because of all the fawning they get in their home states, but Hagel is beyond all reason.

He and John McCain should start their own religion of the damned.

Great analysis Bah!

Along those lines I just heard Chris Matthews self destruct,...again!,

Every time I think he might be getting a little traction he does what dems do so well... they self destruct!

Matthews dug up an old interview with Sen. plugs just to hear Biden say he was envious of Rove and they were out to get him.

It's nothing new for us but it lets those who are not politically savvy know just what is going on here.

The only saving grace about the dems, hillary, et all is that left to their own devices sooner or later they tend to self destruct.

I think it's a lack of any core beliefs that stimulates their self destruction.

And after this symbolic bombing, do you think that the crew will be released?

Why didn't we bomb North Korea after they seized the USS Pueblo? Should Bush have threatened China after our recon plane was forced down and the crew held?

Thank you so much for all the hard work and effort put into your wonderful post. VERY informative.

I think between YOU and DrDeb, I might actually read an e-newspaper and be well informed. AND...it would be a newspaper I would actually enjoy and look forward to!

As it is now...I'm down to only drooling over the furniture ads, at this point ;-)

Edwards is an opportunistic pig. Very soon her illness will become a campaign advertisement for universal health care. The irony is that there is no other system in the world where she would have received the level of diagnostic care she has received in recent days. If fact she would probably die before being approved for another round of treatment. (Ya know, gotta spend those limited dollars on people who have a longer post treatment life expectancy.)

Eventually, a deal will be made with both sides claiming victory.

Which would be a huge mistake. They have all ready been engaging in active in Iraq, they just handed us Jus Ad Bellem for war. Why do we keep dancing around these people. Pull the trigger on them all ready!
