Tunes For The Troops
For this weeks Canteen Music Dedication we move along the timeline to "Power Metal" music.
Power metal is a style of heavy metal music with the aim of evoking an "epic" feel, incorporating characteristics of primarily traditional metal along with thrash metal or speed metal, often within symphonic context.
Power metal lyrics are widely associated with being "upbeat" or "optimistic." Power metal is a style highly focused on the vocalist, with "clean" vocals being much more prevalent than the growling vocals often associated with death metal and black metal.
The selections below are just a sampling. This music is provided for the entertainment of our Troops, Veterans, Allies & their families!
Enjoy the varity of musical selections that the Canteen Deejays have provided throughout the thread. All DeeJays are happy to fill requests dedicated to the troops if we can.
All music is removed on Monday! Thanks to all the DeeJay's for their time & effort providing entertainment for the Troops!
*Canteen Mission Statement*
Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allies military and the family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before. |

I'm thinking I need to take cookies to the post office or something. They're pretty nice! :-)

Is it ok if I pass on that? I really don't think I could handle it.

Not bad English...we're just speaking in the vernacular of chat.
:-D

If it isn't a down pour, it's cooling and bearable. If it passes soon after, you can dry out a bit.......but if it doesn't pass, after 5-6 hours, it'll chill ya to the bone.

I am so infatuated with the Big Lazy Mouse with its long white tail? The only time my kitty is fascinated with the computer mouse is when I'm trying to use it.
Or a basket of fresh warm laundry lilting a Siren's Song that never fails?
Then I have to wash them all over again because she sheds all over it. LOL!

I've got a challenge for ya. Could you find Pseudo Echo's version of "The Locomotion" for either this weekend or next weekend?!
Thanks!

Brent Spiner doesn't have that bad of a voice. Compared with WIlliam Shatner and Leonard Nimoy, he's a virtuoso!

Glad I could be of help. I'd feel really bad if you permanently lost your hearing.

I said something to my guy today about the rates going up...he asked when? "They never tell us anything!" I said sometime in May, and that the flat rate box rate had a note beside it that said something about being under reconsideration. (The flat rate jump is huge...from 8.10 to 9 something!) He said as far as he was concerned, boxes going to our troops should be free. I agreed with him!! He is ex-Air Force.
