It'll be interesting to see what happens if Fred runs and makes federalism the main theme of his campaign. It'll be changed to frederalism, and when he wins he will run the frederal gubmint.
To: Tax-chick
Fred has to be encouraged by the grass roots fire.

I like Fred Thompson. I think he's electable. I don't think Rudy or Obama is.
I think Thompson would beat both Hillary and Obama.
Thompson is LIKABLE, capable, pragmatic, practical, well spoken, pragmatic and realistic about our enemies and other problems.
He projects strength, power and charisma. He doesn't appear to be a knee jerk ideologue.

Of course I don't buy the hysteria of the "gun grabber" nonsense...Well there's the problem. It doesn't matter whether you buy it or not. For Giuliani to get elected he's going to need overwhelming support from a lot of 2A people in swing states that DO believe he's a gungrabber. Not gonna happen. Too many will vote third party or just not vote for President at all.
Put Giuliani at the top of the ticket and you put Hillary in the Whitehouse.

Put Giuliani at the top of the ticket and you put Hillary in the Whitehouse.Don't buy it. I think he'd whip her good. He'd pull a ton of votes from across the politcal spectrum.....negating the right wing pouting.

The NRA and the Pro-Life PACs will destroy Rudy Giuliani.

The NRA and the Pro-Life PACs will destroy Rudy Giuliani.I'm not sure these groups efforts are going to matter this time round the election cycle.
We'll soon find out.

Well, so much for the Rudybots' argument that "only Rudy can beat Hillary!"Unless several polls show Thompson beating both Hillary and Obama with a margin outside the MOE, the Rudy-is-the-most-likely-to-win argument is still valid despite your taunting.
While I still don't know if I can vote for Rudy in the primaries, there is no doubt at this moment, Rudy is the strongest general election candidate the Republicans have. Poll after poll has shown so. To say otherwise is to deny the obvious.

Barack the Magic Negro.LOL. Yep, Hussein is straight out of Central Casting.
To: zarf
Yes, we will soon find out. They will not sit back and allow Rudy Giuliani to hijack the Republican Party.

"Obama has spent 1 Mil+ campaigning, so far...
Thompson has spent exactly ZERO....
Let's see what happens in a couple of months..."
THOMPSON WOULD CRUSH THEM ALL.
To: Miss Marple
I noticed your "executive hair" comment on a previous thread.
What do you think the chances that Thompson's "executive voice" could make up for the deficit in the hair department?
(Can you image the contrast between Thompson and Clinton on the radio? Yikes.)
