Just saw in 7:00-7:30 segment of GMA.
Iranian navy siezed about a dozen UK sailors. Sailors were conducting routine shipping embargo inspection in northern end of Persian Gulf.
Sailors have been taken back to Iran
Can't find it anywhere else.
Dems are running around on The Hill like scalded dogs doing everything to stop the troop buildup and pushing to create 'other news' to divert the publics attention from the situation that is is spiraling downward ever so surely with Iran, the West, and Russia's recent change of attitude towards ImMadInTheHead.
Tops Dems understand what is going on with Iran and the Left's domestic agenda is being impeded by the possibly of having to fight with Iran and those dollars being diverted from their pork and socialist agenda. Plus, the Dems do not want to have to make hard calls in the event of needed military action against Iran's government, not the average Iranian in that country.

That means that this was a planned incident, not a stray patrol accidentally rolled up by Iranian naval forces. The IRGC wants leverage, and they knew where to get it. That also means that they have a plan of some kind, and very specific goals. Some kind of prisoner exchange is on the horizon.
Sadly, but all rhetoric to the contrary, we are generally quite willing to negotiate with terrorists, so long as they fly the Iranian flag. We encourage Iran to act this way by openly tolerating their flagrant outrages.
IMHO, if I were the Brits, I'd 'negotiate' the sailors and the ships release. Then afterwards with special forces and US assistance, I'd sink every damn Iranian ship I could find. Before that, I'd mine their harbors. As soon as the Iranian military forces tried to respond.....Mr & Ms. Cruise Missile, with all their kin would find high value targets at all Iranian ports.
Something very important must have been on that ship that the British were searching!

I've got a question. How far in advance did the Iranians have to plan this, to co-ordinate an assault with six ships? How did they know where the Brits would be? And nobody smelled a rat, if we have any satellites over the Gulf, when they saw six Iiranian ships stooging around?

I wonder how they're going to bury this story. Outside of FR, I'm wondering how soon before the story just disappears. It's so sad that we let them get away with this stuff.
That was the UK of 25 years past. They will not respond other than with talk.
We'll either let them get away with this OR their submarines are going to start going missing one by one.
Methinks this could be a power play by the IRGC to scuttle any peace feelers by the Iranians. They're ticked over the defections and went after an indirect target.
