That was the UK of 25 years past. They will not respond other than with talk.
We'll either let them get away with this OR their submarines are going to start going missing one by one.
Methinks this could be a power play by the IRGC to scuttle any peace feelers by the Iranians. They're ticked over the defections and went after an indirect target.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
I don't know how the UK will respond but if Iran is not careful, they are likely to suffer a strongly worded rebuke from the UN over this.
"That was the UK of 25 years past. They will not respond other than with talk."
Don't count on it. In the last 10 years alone we have moved from talking to shooting in:
Sierra Leonne,
Afghanistan,
Bosnia,
Kosovo,
Iraq
+ 1 or 2 other incidents in Africa that don't get so much press attention. That makes us, with the United States, the most trigger happy nation on the planet at the moment. The Iranians are making a mistake and are foolish if they think there is a line we wont cross.
They are pretty much the same as they were a couple centuries ago. The new social experiment is just a fresh coat of paint. The question is who will nuke Iran first.
I think Saddam Hussein and the Taliban would dispute your suggestion that the British will now only talk. As would the West Side Boys Militia in Sierra Leone who were destroyed in one of the most successful hostage rescue missions ever undertaken in 2000. :-)
