U.S. House amnesty bill to be introduced
NumbersUSA ^ | Rosemary Jenks

Posted on 03/22/2007 3:40:50 PM PDT by Old_Mil

The provisions of the Gutierrez/Flake Amnesty:

Every illegal alien who could produce marginally plausible “evidence” that he/she had been illegally present in the United States since June 1, 2006, would get amnesty and be put on the path to US citizenship.

In exchange for the highest honor our country has to bestow, the illegal alien would have to pay $2,000, pass a criminal record check, pay at least some of any income taxes he/she had chosen not to pay while working illegally, and learn some English. The already overburdened and error-prone U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) would be responsible for ensuring that applicants meet these criteria and for handing out temporary visas and work permits to 2-plus million illegal aliens.

After the no-longer illegal aliens had been in temporary status for six years, USCIS would issue green cards to those who had learned passable English and, in the case of some heads of household, had traveled outside the United States (to any other country, not necessarily their own) for a short time. Single heads of household, children, the elderly, business owners, and those in the military would be exempt from the travel requirement. (Any criminals and terrorists whose fingerprints were not yet on file with the FBI would then have official documents in whateve name they chose to provide USCIS during the first phase of the amnesty.)

Lest any illegals be left out of the general amnesty, the bill includes two others for which they could qualify: the AgJOBS amnesty for those claiming to have performed agricultural work in the United States (the fraud rate for a similar amnesty in 1986 is estimated at 70% and resulted in at least one of the 1993 World Trade Center bombers getting a green card, which he used to fly to Afghanistan for terrorist training) and the DREAM Act amnesty for those who received a US taxpayer-funded high school diploma or an equivalent.

To ensure a constant flow of cheap labor into the United States, the bill would create a worker importation program for an additional 400,000 foreign “guest” workers each year, all of whom would be given the choice to stay permanently, as long as they weren’t caught committing a crime or terrorist act before they applied. DHS would have to certify that it is capable of verifying workers’ legal status before this new program could take effect.

As a bone to lawmakers who believe that the laws they pass should actually be enforced, the bill would mandate that all employers eventually verify the legal status of their workforce and it would increase penalties for those who fail to do so. It would also authorize an increase in the number of border enforcement personnel and in enforcement technology.

Finally, as icing on this rich enforcement cake, the bill would create a “North American security perimeter” that would establish Mexico as our first—and only—line of defense against any security threat from the south.

I think it's going to be up to the patriots in the house to fight this. Already know the Senators will roll over and play dead, and Bush is just waiting to toast it's signing.

Toward a North American Union

By: Patrick Wood
Editor, The August Review

Good evening, everybody. Tonight, an astonishing proposal to expand our borders to incorporate Mexico and Canada and simultaneously further diminish U.S. sovereignty. Have our political elites gone mad?
Lou Dobbs on Lou Dobbs Tonight, June 9, 2005

Introduction

The global elite, through the direct operations of President George Bush and his Administration, are creating a North American Union that will combine Canada, Mexico and the U.S. into a superstate called the North American Union (NAU). The NAU is roughly patterned after the European Union (EU). There is no political or economic mandate for creating the NAU, and unofficial polls of a cross-section of Americans indicate that they are overwhelmingly against this end-run around national sovereignty.

To answer Lou Dobbs, "No, the political elites have not gone mad", they just want you to think that they have.

..whoa..stand back everybody, the crowd will need riot control, the line will be miles long......WHY IS IT these idiots think that people who will sneak across a border, are going to pay whatever taxes they own?..I can see them getting the $2000 they need ...they'll just simply get 4 credit cards from BANK of AMERICA...$500 each...default on those, hand over the cash. ..and learn to speak in English.."we need more money"

No. They know exactly what they are doing. They have a different agenda than many of us. They are communists ans socialists seeking to destroy our country and democracy. Attempting to render our laws irrelevant is just one method.

I am so damn tired of the deliberate obfuscation, spin, and outright lies regarding this problem, which stream forth from so many on Capitol Hill and indeed from the Oval Office itself. Do we really need to remind those in elected office of their Constitutional mandate? Of their oaths of office? Of their duty to the electorate? As working, voting, law-abiding, thinking Americans, we can only come to one conclusion: Those who would support this bill have chosen to intentionally ignore the facts, and have put their own political ambitions ahead of what is good for this country. This agenda is unacceptable, and I reject it utterly. Moreover, it constitutes a direct threat to the future of this republic, because it indicates that there are members of the body politic who no longer answer to the will of the people or the Constitution, or even to rational thought itself.

If they want to annex territory, annex it don't cloak it in B.S..

Make them territories, force them to become states and enter the 1st world not drag us into the 3rd.

And make them become Americans. You know Capital "A" Americans...Citizens of the United Staes of America, not just a resident of said continent.

You should see Lou Dobbs today if you can. Rep. Guitterez (spelling? I'm not looking it up) was on touting this new bill.

Dobbs read off to him all the programs we have now for 'workers' totally about 3 million a year, then add on the million we install as new citizens, on and on.

The Rep. acted as if he had never heard these figures. Do these fools think we don't let anyone in as temp workers now, or are they just dishonest? Probably both.

This country along with our freedom is toast!

Such legislation is useless until and/or unless our "conservative" president signs it.

We pay roughly $68,000,000,000.00 per year right now to take care of those who spit on our laws and, sometimes, even on our flag... The Senate “reforms” will cost us an additional $500,000,000,000.00 over the next ten to twenty years, and may allow in excess of 60 million aliens to become American citizens.

The Fleecing of America Vol. XXCC

If being a FELON no longer matters then we have lost the nation without firing a shot.

…… marginally plausible “evidence”

…… learn some English.

….. Any criminals and terrorists whose fingerprints were not yet on file with the FBI would then have official documents in whatever name they chose to provide USCIS during the first phase of the amnesty.…………………………….. I simply cannot believe the idiotic thought process here………. or here “…as icing on this rich enforcement cake, the bill would create a “North American security perimeter” that would establish Mexico as our first—and only—line of defense against any security threat from the south.”......what is this?

We deserve what we voted for and put in office? I don’t think in anyone’s wildest imagination they expected the State Mental Hospital Inmates to be running the country............

Attempting to render our laws irrelevant is just one method.

Another way is to have the general citizenry focused on the ME.....this happened also in 1990/91, when the other Bush began with NAFTA and its false promises....deja vu all over again
