I certainly agree with you on that.

>>>It's my understanding that each round of chemo/radiation is less successful.

Very true. As I've said, it only delays the inevitable. And when that happens, why do I picture a Wellstone-esque event?

Their attitudes are great .. that'll be a great boost in the days ahead and during treatment. I wouldn't be thrilled about it being in the bones .. I know too much about the progression that can occur in my experiences with friends. But, the progress that's been made with this disease has been incredible, so hopefully it can be chemo controlled.

I am totally stunned, however, at the lightening speed with which all these biopsies, scans and tests were done and analyzed by all the medical professionals who had to have been involved. Three days?
e
That's an unbelievable response time... I mean breathtaking. When I had a biopsy, it was at least 5-7 days before I received results.

Is this normal turnaound time now for such things or am I being naive because he's a presidential candidate and they're assured of getting velvet glove treatment that we peons could never get?

...They do seem to love each other and care a lot about each other.

IMHO, him being a multi millionairre, He should be by her
side 24/7. We've been married 30 years....I would never leave her nor allow her to go on a rigorous campaign trail with that diagnosis and prognosis.

My Mom died of bone cancer. She had had breast cancer some years before. It's not a pleasant way to go.

i can't see how she will have the physical strength to be on the campaign trail

She won't be able to ... though this is her way of dealing with the cancer for now

Weight loss has been one of the first alarms with my family members that advanced to Stage IV.

Because we know how this all works out?

This could be a Mary Higgins Clark election.

I just heard the Fox Radio News...and they said that Edwards is going to continue to campaign also....

I came here...because I read this thread earlier..and it said he was suspending his campaign.

I am with you Peach...I want to know the truth also.

"Well in that case I consider him an even bigger A$$ than before. Very sad to use this to gain publicity."

He certainly did not need to hold a press conferance to announce this. I agree, publicity stunt.

I think it depends on the hospital, how large the area is, how big the lab is, etc., although I'm sure she got the VIP treatment. But I've never waited as long as you have for a biopsy and I'm not a VIP :-)

Patients who are successful malpractice attorneys don't have to wait agonizing days for serious test results as we do.

No kidding. When the October mammovan found a shadow on one of mine a couple of years ago, I couldn't even get the followup appointment they said I needed till December.

however they choose to deal with it, i will not criticize. i don't know that anyone has the right to say the best way to deal with such a thing, so long as they are all supporting each other as a family and it's a joint decision.

I lost my best friend to breast cancer 2 months ago; she would have been 42 next month. This news is sad indeed.
