John Edwards is suspending his campaign for President, and may drop out completely, because his wife has suffered a recurrence of the cancer that sickened her in 2004, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, an Edwards friend told The Politico.
"At a minimum he's going to suspend" the campaign, the source said. "Nobody knows precisely how serious her recurrence is. Itll be another couple of days before theres complete clarity."
"For him right now he has one priority which is her health and the security of the two young children," said the friend.
As for the campaign, "You don't shut this machine off completely, but everything will go on hold."

Men do get breast cancer. And men die from breast cancer. But the numbers aren't as great as women, so you could say it's a genderized disease.

Does that mean the cancer weakened the bone and cracked the rib? That would be my guess

It will be difficult for him to get back into this thing at a later date.Agreed. This is Al Gore's opening. The Dems need a standard white guy candidate in this race who has some chance in hell of winning the nomination. Gore would be their only option.

Cancer has metastasized into bone Once its metastasized doesnt it go into the blood and everywhere or can it stay in the bone ? can it be surgically removed in the bone or is chemo the only option?

I cried for her too. I was under the impression that cancer spreading to the bone was not good news. He also mentioned that the CT scan showed minimal amounts of cancer in other areas. I'll be praying for her.

Oh Lord, he's doing the 'sympathy vote' routine. He'll be channeling any moment now.
To: NautiNurse
Of course it does. Now he can milk it for the sympathy vote.
