To me GW made it very clear yesterday, he will not cave to the party of jackasses and losers like Tancredo who have already called for the removal of Gonzalez.

There is talk that the donks were hoping to remove Gonzalez because the NSA leak investigations and a few others are coming to a close with possible indictments against democrats.

IMO the donks are hoping to get a pro jackass AG to scuttle the investigations before the announcing of indictments. This will not happen.

I believe GW is setting the donks up with this fight, so when the indictments come down. It is no coincidence Rockefeller is absent and quiet.

At this point the only thing that matters is how long it takes for this to work through the courts. Will it be possible to string it out two years? If so, this issue was just removed from the table. If Freepers donate generously to the GOP and retake Congress, the subpoenas would be erased in early 2009.

That's interesting. I was asking this morning why the Dems are after Gonzalez, who has so far seemed like an unambitions, inoffensive, go along to get along type of AG who wouldn't really cause them any problems. But perhaps there's more to it.
