IRAQ A TALE OF TWO POLLS
ONE SAYS WE'RE DOING OK
THE OTHER SAYS WE'RE LOOSING BAD
Once upon a time there were two polls
Guess which one our MSM will pick ?
by L.J.Keslin
Will it be the poll that shows Iraqis are feeling that the "surge" is doing its job or will it be the one that shows the "surge" is failing ?
As Pierre de Paillasson an intern from Paris's communist paper Il Hunanitie advising the selection at a major MSM TV outlet observed in his best broken english" Ah but ov course eets de leettle poll one we must seelect. We must satiate de snakes de poisonous Copperheads zo dey can feed and strike. Beside de udder poll is English, Mal Mal eet was more peoples polled but ze English know nothing"And it came to pass that the poll put out by The Times of London by Opinion Research Business never reached American ears even on conservative talk shows which interviewed principals from the American media poll and not the one reported American gains by the Times of London. Thus Americans believed they lost another war so they quit. And as the surge broke down the Copperheads rejoiced as they held on to their offices as hundreds of American troops were killed plus thousands of Iraqi's, and helicopters landed on the roof of the American embasy in Bagdad hurridly ferrying out Americans as thousands of Iraqis waited in line ...

The Times of London poll questioned 5000,
Times. While there is not as many graphics depicted in this survey its the number questioned in the survey which is the key. The poll produced by the media questioned 2200 and has the BBC seal on it.
BBC raises a great many questions about the quality of life ie electric power, transport, which during the time of Saddam they didn't have either but weighs on US who take these things for granted. While somewhat advanced Iraq is a 2nd world country. What you don't hear of is the American efforts by our troops to improve the quality of life for these people. In addition note when the question is posed in the BBC poll about which type of government you prefer the graph shows a definite preference for democratic...Which is why we are there but will be abandoned if we yield to the Copperheads

Loosing? I loosen my belt when I lose weight.

That is one thing that has driven me CRAZY over the years when reading posts and articles on the Internet.
When did "loose" become "lose"?

Allow me to help here.
"We're loosing bad" = "We're losing badly"

Sure it is, however, when you communicate your thoughts correctly, more people pay attention. That is just a loosely held philosophy I have embraced.
BTW, I am not trying to bust your chops on this as I have seen far too many people here on FR make that very mistake you made. I guess I am just trying to turn the tide on this mistake and you made it at the time I lost my patience in seeing it.
Hope you don't mind. 8>)
