Predictably, 'conservatives' and 'Freepers' have chosen to attack rather than support the President during this difficult time . . . What did 'conservatives' think was going to happen after the 2006 elections? Weren't we all warned?
BTW: Does anyone remember what happened to Reagan and his administration in 1987 and most of 1988?!
Well, I do; it was a nightmare! If you recall, Reagan was so politically and personally shaken by the Iran-Contra scandal, the Stock Market crash and the resulting Democrat/media feeding frenzy that the White House DRASTICALLY curtailed his public appearances (PARTICULARLY his press conferences).
Additionally, Reagan was 'forced' to make MULTIPLE changes in his cabinet (and White House staff):

--Carlucci replaced Casper Weinberger at Defense
--new Secretary of Commerce
--new Secretary of Labor
--new Secretary of Transportation
Shortly thereafter, Thornburgh replaced Meese at Justice to become Reagan's THIRD Attorney General.

Enterprise, AL- The White House finds itself embroiled in yet another scandal, but this time they are on the right side of the outrage. On March 3, 2007 President George W. Bush visited the devastated community of Enterprise, Alabama, ravaged by a savage tornado that took the young lives of 8 high school students at Enterprise High School.
President Bush toured the area in Marine 1, viewing the remnents of a once peaceful Alabama town. Arriving at the High School at approximately 8:30, he walked the remains the High School with Principal Rick Ranier, stopping in Hallway 3, the site of the deaths of 8 young Enterprise High School students.
. . . From the moment of his arrival at Enterprise High School, you could sense an awe and reverence about the President. He is a deeply compassionate man, a father himself, I wonder if he wasn't pondering how he would have felt, had this happened to his daughters school when they were younger.
As he continued his tour of the school grounds he came upon a small group of students standing on an emblem on the floor that read, "EHS, Class of 1965". Having been told he would meet this group from the student body, he asked, "Which one of you is the President?"
Megan Parks raised her hand slightly, then hung her head and began to cry. President Bush put his arms around Megan and Sarah Carroll and all three cried. A secret service officer standing nearby, although not able to hear every word, reported that he could hear the President quoting scripture and then he said, "It's tough being President, isn't it?"

Oh, I agree. Bush did nothing wrong, but the left found a huge opening and ran with it and have been pounding ever since, then it was Dubai, then it was something else.... I think the attacks blindsided him they were so absurd. Somewhere along the way I think Bush just lost the strength to fight. There is something very wrong with the left -- they're not rational people which is why they react with their emotions, but I don't have to tell everyone here that.

They are slime, and like it or not, Bush is going to play the gentleman all the way. Much to our dismay at times.
He will not get praised for much of it here, and certainly not much by me anywhere, now or later. I like the guy, but the politics is causing me too much stomach distress.
I'm not happy with a lot of things concerning Bush as President, but the alternative still chills me.
I think Kyl is pretty upset with how weak Gonzalez has been. There are things Justice should have pursued and didn't and things they did that they shouldn't have. He really HAS been the worst AG we've ever had.

I don't really think it is a lack of "strength" on Pres. Bush's part...I think it is reality.
He knows that arguing with the dems will never work..because they have the MSM to take their side.
Plus, he has one MAJOR problem..(at least some people think it is a problem)...he is determined to preserve the integrity of The Office of the President of the United States.
I am sure watching Clinton shaking his finger at a camera, saying he did not have sexual relations with "that woman"..instilled in him a determination to never sink that low AS the POTUS/CIC...
I would think also...that he has SO much to worry about...like the terrorists that will strap on bombs..instead of just the political terrorists that just throw bombs, like Schmuckie and Leahy..
that he just has to be so frustrated that AG couldn't manage to take care of this without creating such an opportunity for the dems to pounce.
Perhaps it's because people are sick and tired of being "divided" like you people do by insinuating people like me aren't "conservative" enough.
