I wouldn't be shocked if this were true. The Bush administration has often been quick to fly the white flag when the Demonrats are enraged.

The lights are on at 1600--but is it a timer.

And wimpishness has caused them to lose their glow...!

Maybe US Attorney Sutton has earned high enough marks with his successfully prosecuting those protecting our borders that he will get the nod to replace 'Berto.

If Bush had any sense he'd throw Sutton under the bus, demand a REAL trial for the Border Guards, and say that Sutton was that naughty Gonzales's protege (true).

The two problems with that scenario are 1) Sutton is also an old pal of Bush and 2) both Sutton and Gonzales were following Bush's "vision" on the border thingie.

Still, given what we've seen of Bush "loyalty"...

Good riddance to Gonzales. He "apologized", and there's nothing the scumbag rats like more. The rats will prey on that kind of weakness like vultures on a carcass.

I have given Bush as much support as he has given this unique Republic. As I watched our national sovereignty vanish and our standing in the world fade I am ashamed I voted for the sorry bugger.

Suffice it to say he didn't give Gonzales much support; weasel words is what I took away from it.

but I'm sick of seeing him grab his ankles.

Well that was his position all last week in south america and mexico, so I guess he enjoys it.

"SecDef Rumsfeld (a great SecDef) was not fired"

yes he was a great sec. of defense. And when someone is as great as he was, he should not have been replaced. I believe, he should have stayed on. But that is just my opinion.

Don't try to pretty it up, just say it: borders. Your main issue.

Oh yes. Don't get me started with the Dubai Ports stuff.

On the other hand, Bush made enough bona fide mistakes with personnel that it was really hard to "trust" him with a Supreme Court nominee, especially when we had so many good people.

But we shouldn't have undercut him on Dubai Ports. They are one of our best allies in the Middle east, and we treated them like Crap so that Schumer could make the democrats look strong on terror (undercutting our own party distinction) AND give the port work to his own cronies.

Well then, all he more reason why "true" conservatives should not have acted like spoiled brats and understood the consequences of staying home last election (while we were at war!) over a few domestic issues.

SecDef Rumsfeld put the good of the U.S. soldier above himself...and agreed leaving was the best option to make sure we kept on the offensive.
