So you didn't bother listening to the interview before saying that?

Now why would Sergio want to do something a radical as that, when it so much easier to just thump your chest?

The threat isn't Islamic, it's self-loathing multiculturalism. Muslims in America are a symptom not a cause.

I did listen to the audio clip, so I'm at a loss for your and Valin's response. Perhaps if I better understood what you both mean by your responses, I could compose a proper response.

I'll be signing off as it's getting late, but I will reply to any comments sent my way.

Best Regards to you both.

"apparantly it isn't to our politicians in Washington"

Nor seemingly to our commander and chief. President Bush has done a marvelous job with most of the war on terror. However, he still has not been able to call on islamic leaders in this country to renounce terrorism and report terrorist activities to the authorities. President Bush met with islamic leaders in the whitehouse after Americans were murdered on 9/11 an called islam the ROP. He repeated that several times since.
The most sacred book of islam calls for the subjugation of nonbelievers... death of those who will not submit. If white supremacists were calling for the death of all those who would not become white supremacists how long would we allow them to walk the streets.
Almost as bad is government law enforcement agencies and homeland securities stupid insistence on no profiling of middle eastern looking or sounding persons. This is despite the fact that ALL acts of terror that killed American citizens were just that.
We can not allow this folly to continue. The president can not allow these failed policies to continue.
The house and the senate are just as bad, and now even worse.
Political correctness is going to turn our country over to the current crop of immigrants..legal or otherwise. Most seem to care nothing about our country and how we got to this point in history and don't want to be part of this.
They want nothing less than the Balkanization of America. The care not about melting into America but want us to melt into their culture. The same failed cultures that the left.

'Moderate' and 'muslim' are not contradictory terms. (def. of oxymoron)
Dr. Jasser IS what can be described as a moderate muslim.

Good morning Gentlemen.

My reasoning for saying that a "Moderate Muslim" is an oxymoron, is because Islam is not a moderate religion.

I direct you to SauronOfMordor's home page. There you will find some interesting excerpts from the Qu'ran and the Sunnah, that provide some background information on Islam.

My thanks to SauronOfMordor for putting together a great home page.

The good doctor aside, Islam is not a religion of caring and understanding for those who do not believe in it. It is a religion of forced conversion, subjugation, and death for nonbelievers. Unlike just about every other religion on this planet where you can be a little bit Christian, or a little bit Jewish, if you are little bit Muslim, there are consequences. Sadat and Salman Rushdie come to mind. It is my belief that if Dr. Zuhdi Jasser were living in a Muslim country, there would already be a "Fatwa" on his life for not being Muslim enough.

Given what I have read of the Muslim Holy texts, and given what Muslims have actually done, both currently and in history, I have come to the conclusion that being a true, devout Muslim, adhering to all of Islam's tenants and teachings, makes it hard, if not impossible, to be a moderate on any issue dealing with non Muslims.

These, of course, are just my opinions on the subject, and not really relevant to anyone else by myself. Hopefully, they will shed some light on my reasoning for saying that "Moderate Muslim" is an oxymoron.

Best Regards to you both.

I almost forgot. My apologies if my original post was in some way offensive, that was not my intent.

Dr. Jasser IS what can be described as a moderate muslim.

I do believe that there are people who identify themselves as Muslim, who are entirely peaceful and do not believe in using violence in expanding Islam.

My point is that such people are not considered fully Muslim by mainstream Muslims. While there might be moderates who call themselves Muslim, Islam ITSELF is not moderate

Islam was founded by a man who earned his living through armed robbery. Mohammad was a robber, murderer, liar, pedophile, rapist -- I wonder if there's any sort of villainy that Mad Mo did not indulge in. I direct you to my home page for details

An essential aspect of Islam is that Mohammad is considered to be an ideal person who Muslims should strive to emulate. To the degree that a person succeeds in emulating Mohammad, he is emulating a violent psychopath. It would be difficult for this to lead to anything good

I predict that it will take another attack on this country, the USA, and the angry backlash will be so bad that the Islamic threat will be no more.

Unfortunately, it may come to that. (See my post, #20) It is sad in the sense that innocent people will lose their lives in the attack, innocent lives will be lost in the backlash, and finally more lives will be ruined or lost when our government prosecutes citizens for cleaning up the mess that was the governments doing.
