Dare I say it but I think there is an element of your feminist background coming to the surface here.

You hear the word babe and heckles go up - I understand that a lot of women do.

I have never really liked the term babe, chick (despite my tagline) or doll but being someone who did not hear the show but from what has been written I would feel Rush was being sarcastic and probably honest as well. Given half the chance he probably would go for her or someone similar.

Also I would suggest he is pointing out that that would be on looks alone and nothing to do with brains or personality.

He is IMHO further pointing out that this is exactly what is coming over during her giving evidence no male is really listening or interested in what she is saying but are just fantasizing given half the chance they would; dare I say this crudity "give it one". I would also surmise that the very same men doing this would soon tire very quickly of the woman and move on to the next.

Hey Snugs. Thanks for the response.

I still disagree that Rush was being satirical but I really appreciate your comment that you don't like the term babe and chick. NEITHER DO I AND NEITHER DO MOST WOMEN!

And go to hell I sure am showing my prior feminist leanings so if nothing else, know that I'm not lying. I hate to be treated like a sex object, yeah, I'll use the term. I really hate it when a male smirks and right out loud says "hey, we get an erection and lose it all" and even worse, "WE ARE GUYS AND IT IS OUR RIGHT". I hate that.

Yeah, I used to be a woman's libber of the highest order and I'd like to think my granddaughter could grow up in a world where she's not treated like a "thing" with a vagina. Women do not like this and we are women, we are too often afraid to say so.

And don't go thinking I never had my day in the sunlight of the lustful men. I was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL young woman, gorgeous, yes I was. I still am a happening middle-aged lady, frankly. I had plenty of guys...they were like a bus...you missed one, another one came right along. I saw a pic of you too, Snugs. That bus would stop at your stop.

Point is, it's not UGLY women who don't like to be treated as objects. If I could somehow take a survey I'd dare say that it's mostly ATTRACTIVE women who take umbrage at being talked to and treated like sexual objects.

Damn if you people didn't turn me back into a liberal. But I entertained some. And I bet Rush addresses the issue next week.

Don't remember where I saw it, probably here on FR, but in a rollicking description of La Plame's histrionics at the hearing, it was remarked that when listening to or responding to the Dems, Plame rolled her eyes up at the corners in the flirty-demure manner of Princess Di. An accompanying photo showed this startling affectation.

When either of the two Republican panel members addressed Val, her face wore the stolid, cow-like expression of a clever but quintessentially nasty little girl wary of having her dream sequence of lies and evasions unravelled by the two grown-ups present who did not find her act either entrancing or convincing.

The denoument for Joe and Val's story is already playing out in the attorneys' offices where her "testimony" is being vetted for presentation during the civil case the Wilsons have initiated against the government, meaning us, the taxpayers, and individuals.

Meanwhile, until the big pay-off they are expecting, the Wilsons' are looking forward to the successful passage of an Act of Congress which will allow Val to begin collecting her pension right away to help pay off the $1.1 million dollar mortgage they have taken out on their New Mexico digs.

I found the details of this real-estate transaction quite intriguing, mostly because of the background and activities of the people who sold the property to the Wilsons.
