Vermont parents upset at schools after 6th graders testify on global warming before state legislature...
I love kids, but I can't imagine what 12-year olds could add to the climate debate. Other than regurgitating what they've been told.
Not to question all the comments...but the Burlington Press has nothing posted on its site about this. The site given by Drudge...goes to a invalid page. And no other press site (I did the google) has anything on it. I suspect someone did sneak in a story on the Burlington paper's site and after they realized the number of hits...they removed it. Vermont'ers are rather stupid...but I doubt they'd be stupid enough to allow a 12-year old kid to come in and make statements like this. Most of the legislative crowd would have disappeared out the backdoor and gone to have beers across the street...had this been the case.
We had three of the grandkids here for the weekend ages 12 and under and had them watch the BBC documentary blowing holes in the man-made global warming thing. The result was the 12 year old said we should send it to his dad (my-son-the-liberal) and the 8 year old told her mom on the phone about it!
There's no end to the ways some people will sh-t on kids, is there?

Former Vice-President Al Gore, inventor of the internet, announced plans to train 1,000 storytellers to spread the myth of man-made global warming.
Gore is on a one-pony carnival tour to promote his fanciful movie titled “An Inconvenient Truth.” The film is a hodgepodge of dramatic scenes of violent nature at work, concluding that ordinary people doing ordinary things are the quintessential evil force causing global warming and destroying the earth.
Gore complains that awareness of the “climate crisis” peaks and then is washed away as sane people turn to more important matters like buying cereal for the kids or cleaning the cat box.
Because normal people won’t stay permanently fooled by Gore’s chicken little warnings, he hopes to train a small army of fog peddlers to confound and indoctrinate small children, gullible college students and a stray dog or two.
The Gore hustlers will come armed with a slide show and heads filled with junk science to promote the global warming religion at Rotary Clubs and high schools.
Since sixth graders are as reliable and technically grounded as Al Gore and the rest of the enviro-whackjobs, why shouldn't they testify.

This explains everything. When you get your knowledge by having 12 year olds testify you develop the same sort of policy as the left for precisely the same reason.

Aside from reflexive witch trial condemnations, in the name of unproveable uncertainties, the other popular current tactic of the Left is distraction, i.e., pretensious horror that political calculus may have been involved with the firing of a handful of US attorneys, or, outrage that the involvement of wife, who was instrumental in involving her husband in Iraq policy matters, of a man who published a NYT op ed piece attacking administration policy somehow got drawn into the resulting dust up, both topics dominating news coverage as the evidence mounts in a far more important matter, the Iraq War, that recent policy changes (the surge) are having early subtantial positive effects.
These twin strategies, political correctness (putting rational discussion out of bounds on important topics) and manipulation by deception (distracting America from the real policy issues it faces through false agenda setting) are the mechansim by which a small but effectively co-ordinated lefist cadre, continues to control policy and the policy agenda to the peril of the mass of American citizens and their fundamental interests which remain prosperity, security and liberty all three of which are interrelated necessitating capitalism, a strong and capable military force, and unconditial freedom of speech and association, all of which values have been under ongoing assault by the left for more than sixty years.
Using fears imposed on school children by propaganda to justify increased government regulation of productive human activity is a predictable consequence of continuing to let any Leftist hold a position of influence in our society.
America must demand that the Universities, Government, and the Press, be purged of all socialist adherents and apologists, or we will not survive.
This is pretty sick using children to promote their propaganda. Having lived in VT it doesn't surprise me that the legislature would take time to listen to 12 yr olds about Global Warming but wouldn't lift a finger to protect them from pedophiles.
