When they make the movie, Dakota Fanning should play Valerie.

Just another Waxman hearing dud! Valerie compared herself with a general working in the field or in the pentagon claiming either way they are a general but the problem with her analogy is that a General is a title whereas a status is only a description.

Where is Reagan when we need him? Bush should announce a press conference for 7PM and tell these yahoos that she was outed long before the WH said anything.

When will Bush grow a set to protect himself from the BS MSM? This 24x7 hate fest could be stemmed a bit if Bush would use his bully pulpit to counter this ongoing soliloquy by the talking heads.

Haven't been able to follow the story today ... so did anyone get around to asking Valerie Wilson about her and joe's relationship with Jacqueline, the lobbyist for the daughter of one of the wealthiest of crooked African politicians, Omar Bongo?

1998 : (GABON'S PRESIDENT OMAR BONGO TRAVELS TO THE US; GABON HIRED WILSON'S SECOND WIFE, THE FRENCH WOMAN JACQUELINE, AS A LOBBYIST; PIERRE SALINGER [JFK's press sec], HERMAN COHEN [Clinton's Asst Sec of State for Africa]AND OTHER LOBBYISTS WERE ALSO EMPLOYED) Here’s a French language article regarding a 1998 trip by Gabon President Omar Bongo to the United States. Apparently, the Gabonese hired Wilson’s second wife Jacqueline as a lobbyist in support of the trip. Another who worked with her was the famous Pierre Salinger, known for many things, eg he was JFK’s press secretary and for his TWA 800 theories. But even more lobbyists were engaged, they apparently had a “too many cooks in the kitchen” kind of conflict, and the trip didn’t come off well Joseph Wilson was “very present” at the events of the visit. -- Source: FreeRepublic's Shermy using this source http://www.bdpgabon.org/ancien_site/bdp/revelationspol1.html

Waxman is channeling Joe McCarthy. He invites people to testify, then he interrupts and harasses them. See Victoria Toensing.

"I did not suggest him. I did not recommend him. There was no nepotism involved," she said, adding, "I did not have the authority."

It was the suggestion of another CIA officer who knew that Joe Wilson had previously gone on other CIA missions "to deal with some other nuclear matters," she said.

She said she had later been asked to write an e-mail summarizing the discussion that included the possibility of her husband making the journey. A portion of that e-mail was later taken out of context to make it seem that she had suggested her husband for the assignment, she said."

http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/03/16/cia.leak/index.html

February 12, 2002 – The Defense Intelligence Agency writes a report concluding “Iraq is probably searching abroad for natural uranium to assist in its nuclear weapons program.” Vice President Cheney reads this report and asks for the CIA’s analysis. (Senate Intelligence Cmte., Iraq 38-39, July 2004).

Responding to inquiries from Cheney’s office, the State Department, and the Defense Department, the CIA’s Directorate of Operations’ Counterproliferation Division (CPD) look for more information. They consider having Wilson return to Niger to investigate. In the process, Valerie Wilson writes a memo to a superior saying, “My husband has good relations with both the PM [prime minister] and the former Minister of Mines (not to mention lots of French contacts), both of whom could possibly shed light on this sort of activity.” One of Valerie Wilson’s colleagues later tells Senate investigators she “offered up his name” for the trip. Wilson says that her agency made the decision and she only later approached her husband on the CIA’s behalf. (Senate Intelligence Cmte., Iraq 39, July 2004).

"February 19, 2002 – Joseph Wilson meets with officials from CIA and the State Department. According to a State Department intelligence analyst’s notes, the meeting was convened by Valerie Wilson. She later testifies that she left the meeting after introducing her husband. (Senate Intelligence Cmte., Iraq 40, July 2004)."

Why is Congress wasting our time with Valerie Plame's natterings, when we have Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's testament as to how serious Al Qaeda is about killing us?

Andy McCarthy on "covert": "Valerie Plame Wilson said in her testimony that she continued to be "covert" while working at Langley — long after her assignment overseas — because she had been covert while working overseas. Her analogy was to a general in the army. A general, she said, remains a general even if he is rotated from combat overseas to a post in the U.S. This seems pretty silly to me. It conflates RANK with STATUS. The better analogy, I think, would be to a DEA or FBI undercover agent. When the agent is on the undercover assignment, he/she is "covert"; when the agency ends the U/C assignment and transfers the agent (often to a supervisory position), the agent is no longer covert, even though aspects of the former assignment remain closely guarded. Obviously, when an undercover agent moves onto new, non-undercover responsibilities, that does not mean all entanglements of the covert assignment are over. If, for example, there were classified aspects of the assignment (e.g., the agent's cover was a sham corporation that the agency is still using for undercover purposes), or if the agent, while covert, reported information that is still regarded as sensitive or classified intelligence, all that remains closely guarded (perhaps even classified). So, to that extent, it can still be said that the agent has "covert" responsibilities. BUT, that doesn't mean his or her day-to-day responsibilities are any longer covert. The agent, for example, walks in and out of headquarters everyday, like hundreds of other people, because there is no longer any imperative to conceal his/her connection to the agency." Covert

I was on this thread earlier while the hearing was still on.

What I have to say now has nothing to do with her appearance
or any type of "sexism", but right now, VICTORIA TOENING is
the sexiest woman alive.

I'm still trying to catch my breath after and over her
display of spirit and gusto at a time when no other winter
soldiers can be found.

Forget Plames looks. Victoria's spirit can keep you warm
during a ice storm such as this....JJ61

Wilson speaking at U of Iowa. Plame was supposed to be there too but claims her lawyers are preventing her from it.

BTW this is how the left works. Wilson (like Sheehan et al) make money thru speakers brueaus the left runs. The speechas are paid for out of mandatory student fees. The tuition money you pay is used to propagandize your children. Nice, huh?
