Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) chairs a House Oversight and Government Reform Ctme. hearing on the disclosure of CIA Agent Valerie Plame Wilson's identity. The hearing will look into whether White House officials followed appropriate procedures for safeguarding the identity of Ms. Wilson.

Sadly, I must remind you that Fred Thompson was bamboozled by John Glenn when Fred was Chairman of a Senate committee looking into the Chinese money going to the Clinton election campaign. I have little confidence that Thompson could handle these present day democrats.
This is what happens when Democrats run Congress. Republicans and conservatives should stop playing, because it's certain the Democrats aren't.
Actually only Waxman knows why stuff is on that list. And he could be telling a "political truth" -- that is a lie or misdirection. Quite clearly he is in that mode.

He contradicted himself about who wrote the statement he used in his opening remarks.
He put the panelists under oath by saying "do you promise to tell the truth and the whole truth." Either he is so PC that he cannot say the word "swear" or he did not actually 'swear in" the panelists.
Maybe he 'fudged' the truth on who wrote the list of verboten questions.

Well...Toensing said today..that if SHE was White House counsel, she would have advised them AGAINST it...which is probably what happened....ugh

If it was me at that hearing, I, Walter Mitty redux, would never have that Waxy shut me down. "You sir," I blithely imagine the scene, "are merely a Senator, whereas *I* am a CITIZEN. You work for us, sir, and YOU shall not be allowed shut down the full truth by this citizen! She was not covert, and I will swear to that on my good citizenhood. What, sir, is the value of Senator's oath? Is it not like a termite and worm eaten piece of fallen deadwood? My word is good and as solid as clean oak, so is the word of any good citizen."
