With such a long search for a cause, I'll bet the treatment is welcome relief.

Thank you all for taking the time to answer me. I am writing a alternative history novel and I need to make sure the little details are correct. And Freepers have proven time and time again that they know their stuff!

Thank you all again.

So far all they know for sure is that the murmur is caused by a thickening of one of the valves. The cause for the thickening is as yet unknown. Of more concern was the other finding in the echocardiogram, which showed the possibility of muscular weakness or dysfunction in one area of the heart. The nuclear scan (stress test) did not indicate this; that's why he may do a CT scan, to see what, if any, percentage of blockage may exist. At this point it's not enough to panic over, but may be something to watch.

I still have to screw the base plates for each leg to the deck and Barb has to place the glider, table and chairs in it.

I'll send you a pic when she has it ready to use. ;)

Finding "something" now, and being able to watch and plan is a good thing. Having to "look" for "something" in an emergency is not so good.

So.....prayers as you and the docs work on "what" and "how to manage" that "something". ((HUGS))

Alaska Town Giving Away Free Land

(AP) ANCHORAGE, Alaska Anderson, a little town in Alaska's interior, has no gas station, no grocery store and no traffic lights, but it does have plenty of woodsy land and it's free to anyone willing to put down roots in the often-frozen ground.

In a modern twist on the homesteading movement that populated the Plains in the 1800s, the community of 300 people is offering 26 large lots on spruce-covered land in a part of Alaska that has spectacular views of the Northern lights and Mount McKinley, North America's highest peak.

And what's an occasional day of 60-below cold in a town removed from big-city ills?

I would post copious pictures of my perfectly beautiful granddaughters; but I'm afraid I'd bore others with my adoration for them.

I don't see why that'd be the case. I've seen a lot of Canteeners posting pictures of their grandbabies all the time. I don't see why yours would be "boring".

I guess kids are cute to most people. It's different to post pictures of celebs.

Still, I wouldn't post numerous pictures of 'em on each thread.
