My dream details my first-ever and only meeting with an angel, several years ago. Of this, I have no doubt. I get goose bumps every time I tell the story To set the background for this angelic meeting, my wife and I had just completed our adoption dossier in our effort to adopt a toddler from Russia. For those wishing to adopt, one must collect a mountain of paperwork on every conceivable subject, proving that your house is safe, your water is safe, you aren't a criminal, you are financially solvent, etc., etc., etc. All of these papers must be stamped by the appropriate authority, certifying its authenticity. This 2-inch thick collection of paperwork constitutes one's adoption dossier. It typically takes 6 months to a year to complete. My highly motivated and efficient wife completed it in 4 months from when we signed on with our agency. We took that document down to the office and with great relief, dropped it off.

At this point, we go on a waiting list, awaiting a "referral" for adoption from our agency. We are told to expect a 3 to 6 month waiting list for the referral, which is quicker than we hear from some other friends at other agencies who are waiting up to a year or more. That very weekend, 2 or 3 days later, I went to bed as usual on Sunday night. Now I am one to fall asleep quickly, sleep soundly, and wake up with no memories of dreams... much less religious dreams (something I don't ever recall having had in my prior lifetime). That Sunday evening, I had a dream that was burned into my mind. In it, my wife and I were sitting at a table at something like an outdoor cafe. We were chatting, the world was happening around us... traffic, other people talking, walking, etc. All of a sudden, I had an acute sense that time was slowing down. The sounds around us became muffled and slowly ground to a halt. At this point, everything is still and silent.

All of a sudden, amongst all this quiet and stillness, an angel comes wafting up to our table, cradling a child in her arms. She stops right in front of us (suspended out of time and space), with this absolutely beautiful child in her arms, and says, "this is your daughter." Neither my wife nor I responded... we were just frozen, awestruck. Slowly, the angel, child still cradled in her arms, wafted off into the distance. The next thing I notice, time had started up again, and the world is proceeding normally around us. So intense was this dream, that when I woke up for work Monday morning, I woke up my wife and said to her, "Wow! I just had the most amazing dream!" and proceeded to tell her about it. This is itself unusual, because I never wake up my wife when I get up for work (she likes her sleep). However, she listened to my dream and agreed that it sounded like a very good dream.

I headed off to work, and about 9 or 10AM that morning (about 6 hours after my dream), I get an excited call from my wife. The adoption agency just called. A very unusual situation just arose and they have an unexpected referral for us! This referral, of course, less than a week after we submitted our dossier, turned out to be for our eventual daughter. As soon as my wife called, I had absolutely no doubt that I had been touched by an angel the previous night.

Blessings have continued to follow us on this journey. Praise be to God!

Your story is beautiful. God does use angels to help us at times.

I have a story that is not as great, but it is valuable to my Mom.

When I was 3 years old, I got meningitis. My fever spiked up to 106 and I went into a coma. (Of course, I don't remember any of this.) My older brother and parents were kept at the hospital for 3 days straight, because the doctors believed I was going to die, and they wanted my brother to be able to say "good-bye."

Obviously, my parents were praying hard and not getting any sleep. On the third day, my Mom fell asleep for a brief time on a couch. She says that she had a very vivid dream where a beautiful older man with a pure white beard told her that I would be alright. When he touched her on her shoulder, she woke up.

She went up to my room, and I was still in a coma. She walked over to me and touched me on my shoulder and said "wake up, honey." I came to.

Month's later, I was playing under the dining room table talking to my favorite stuffed animals. According to my Mom, I didn't know that she was listening to my conversations with my animals. Apparently I was telling my bunny that "the white bearded man took me up to heaven and I got to meet Jesus. Jesus then fixed my hurt and the bearded man brought me back down to the hospital."

I don't remember any of this, (except for being in the hospital) and my Mom never talked to anyone about her "white bearded man" dream. She also says that no one talked to me about going up to heaven, so she feels that my conversation was confirmation of angelic intervention.

I post this with some hesitation. I know that some people pray to angels and put too much attention on angels. I do believe that angels do interact with us, but I also believe that we are not to pray to them or give them the reverance that is due to Jesus.

Sincerely

I have had a amazing angel dream also. I dreamt the night before I went in to have a procedure to turn my son (then 8 months and breach in my womb). The dream was me lying in large amounts of blood and the Lord was holding my son above me. The Lord told me that I didn't need to worry, that he needed to keep him for a few more weeks and then he would be fine.

That morning, my husband and I went to the hospital and started the procedure which included an epidural. Something didn't go right and while waiting for the specialist I mentioned I didn't feel right and could they please roll me over. I was in a huge puddle of blood from a ruptured placenta. I was rushed into a emergency cesearean within 2 minutes. I did not see my son until the next day when he was transported to NICU at the local children's hospital. He was in for two weeks and came home completely healthy.

During this time, my mother asked me why I didn't seem worried about the baby. I told her about my dream and that I knew that everything was going to be fine because he was in good hands!

I have also had dreams about close family and friends. I had one dream where my now sister in law who lived in another state where I had never visited (who was married to someone else at the time) was having her baby. The baby was 7 weeks early. I dreamt the exact people and hospital and picture. She called me the next day to tell me the whole story and wonderful news. I was very surprised to know that it was exactly as I had pictured it.

I believe that God prepares us in our dreams for events that will be difficult for us get through. We don't always remember the dream, but we have his hand on our hearts to support us through that time.
