Saying that the beliefs, bravery and morals of the Persians were the ancestors of the current Islamofacists of Iran is like saying donkeys are the ancestors of the hogs. There are no connections...the Persians were an ancient peoples that the current residents of Iran don't even remotely resemble in genetics or beliefs.
Iran's connection to Persia is they share dirt.
Nothing else in common.
Maybe they have a fixation for picking fights with smaller opponents, who then kick their A$$.
No problem. I have one for the Marine Corps as well. Later.
The alexander movie was so painfully bad it hurt.
The homoerotic qualities were so over the top that the theater was filled with men in trench coats touching themselves.
It was AWFUL!
speaking of foreigners,
The socialists in Greece who were upset about 300 were very much disappointed when the Greek public embraced the movie to make it number one this weekend.
Why is it always the left who hates it when a movie comes out with the western civilization coming out on top?
(for those in rio linda: duty, honor, and freedom)
that movie was so bad the lawyers who threatened to sue, quickly refused to sue because it was obvious how big a turkey it was.
Unlike 300, Stone (stoned) tried to portray it as historically accurate despite missequencing battles and the deaths of major characters.
So, Moghadam, what you're really trying to say is that this is a "size" thing. Sorry, Mog, can't help ya. But I can forward you a whole bunch of email from people who claim they can. Good luck with that.
How long before Warner Brothers is hit by some act or terrorism?
Molon Labe! (mo-lone' lah-veh')
While Herodotus is not exactly an unimpeachable source, his favorable treatment of and even occasional open admiration for the Persians in his Histories puts lie to the silly notion that he was somehow biased against them.
He had to be biased against them, he wasn't a Persian.
"THIS IS AMERICA!"

Um, like sure, whatever. Of course, Genghis Khan kicked Persian butt for the same reason in the 1200s. And we will be forced to kick their butts pretty soon for the same reason. But no, there's no connection, other than 4000 years of pulling the same dictatorial crap and getting the sand pounded out of them it's all completely different.
My emails to the author of this POS article and his reply.
More to come, no doubt.
