The candidates are running because they want to run in most instances. They are not being offered up by the party.

Just look at who the Republicans are offering up as Presidential candidates I did and all are fine with me. Now let us look at the conservatives who are running, Ron Paul, Brownback, maybe gingrich, maybe tancredo, hunter, etc. and why are they all polling at less than 5%.
