There's supposed to be a difference between conservatives and liberals. Liberals use any convenient lie to smear their political opponents.
I'm disappointed to see some "conservatives" use the same tactics.
I do not support Giuliani for president. I do, however, support using FACTS as opposed to smear tactics in support or opposition of any candidate.

This headline reminded me of going to the polls for our first school board election. There were signs all over "Teachers Support {fill in name of Dem candidate]."
Same thing as IAFF. The teachers' UNIONS endorsed the democrat candidates and, as unions are wont to do, pretend they speak for all teachers (or firefighters, or policeman, or steelworkers) whose opinions were not sought in the endorsement process.
On this Board of late it doesn't matter WHO says something v. Giuliani, it's ok. 'The enemy of my enemy is my friend' seems to be their motto.

Thanks for the Link.
I am afraid the Rudy Lying Squad will not take this well.
Facts about Rudy really upset them.

The IAFF union bosses at their International Convention supported KerryYes, but the point is that Guiliani is being disengenious by attacking and discounting this report as being partisan because he knows this report came from the NYC union chapter that endorsed Bush. The report from these firefighters on what occured after 9/11 is not partisan.

Julie is far more vulnerable than his supporters wish to believe. He would be demolished in the general election.

He'll have to answer some tough questions eventually and I don't expect he will be very convincing on issues like immigration.

Better to lose 4 years than suffer for another 20 or so. Julie cannot win because if only 1/10 of Republican voters stay home thats all it'd take. I know too many who would never vote for an abortion, homesexual promoten ,gun grabber no matter what the scenario.

I get suspicious when it appears that MSM is pushing certain candidates to the forefront.
They did with McCain for years. Then, a couple of months ago on Meet the Press, Russert threw a few hardballs to McCain -- a definite signal to the Senator that his days as the media darling were over.
Which candidate(s) are not being 'fronted' by the MSM? Those are the ones I am most interested in.

Yes, I think that this, if it gets attention over the course of the next several months, could gain momentum and REALLY be damaging. This is probably just one small detail of a bigger, more callously self-serving picture of the post 9-11 period that Giuliani put himself in the middle of . And just WHOSE idea was it IN THE FIRST PLACE not to impose EXTREME CAUTION on all of those searching amidst all that toxicity? As we all know, thousands have ill effects from it....did Giuliani encourage or discourage it? Where did the buck stop, or get passed? WHO or WHAT AGENCY in NYC politics should have stepped in an imposed some common sense about this?

They're the same firefighters who crowded around and cheered when Bush came to Ground Zero. That event was immediately after the attack. The criticisms come as a result of things that happened a few months later. How well the union really represents the firefighters on this issue is an open question, but the fact that this controversy exists will damage Mr. Giuliani.
