NY TIMES PLANS TUESDAY HIT ON GORE, NEWSROOM SOURCES TELL DRUDGE: 'Scientists argue that Gore's warnings are full of exaggerated claims and startling errors'... Developing..
From a Rapt Audience, a Call to Cool the Hype
"Hollywood has a thing for Al Gore and his three-alarm film on global warming, An Inconvenient Truth, which won an Academy Award for best documentary. So do many environmentalists, who praise him as a visionary, and many scientists, who laud him for raising public awareness of climate change.
But part of his scientific audience is uneasy. In talks, articles and blog entries that have appeared since his film and accompanying book came out last year, these scientists argue that some of Mr. Gores central points are exaggerated and erroneous. They are alarmed, some say, at what they call his alarmism.
I dont want to pick on Al Gore, Don J. Easterbrook, an emeritus professor of geology at Western Washington University, told hundreds of experts at the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America. But there are a lot of inaccuracies in the statements we are seeing, and we have to temper that with real data..."
Is that a piece of Lovett tartan on your home page?
Gore is a gas bag so every time he opens his pie hole he creates greater global warming.
Agree. I guess I'll just play wait & see, but I do have the impression the Global Warming hustlers have overplayed their hand in recent months to the point that even The NY Slimes can't ignore the hypocrisy --- Al Gore, with the Oscar-winning mammoth carbon footprint being the worst of the lot. He's making the other Limo-Libs and Gulfstream Environmentalists look really bad --- especially the tax deductible "Carbon Credits" he buys from himself. If some Republican had a scheme like that going, the Times would be going nuts.
No one. They are all indentured servants.
"Don't worry. If you elect me president, I promise to keep my twelve other personalities safe in a lock box."
Sheppard Smith. Talk about drama queens.
I'd say it was mostly endless stupidity that took it's toll.
I read/edited the story for print in newspaper's edition tomorrow. It's not really a "hit piece," although since it's coming from the NYT you could definitely call it that -- I had to do a double-take and make sure the byline was correct when I read the story. Couldn't believe I was reading something penned from the NYT that carried that kind of tone toward Gore.
To be sure, it's fairly mild, but it does acknowledge that scientists who otherwise are in Gore's corner are saying he's "overblowing a bit" in his global warming march. Says a lot of scientists are bothered that he's botched science, which will give ammunition to the opposition.
Slowness in publishing does not necessarily mean slowness in research. You can bet that the Times has already done a ton of research on conservative candidates which they will only report when the time is right in the election cycle.
Yeah, I miss the good old days when the Earth never changed.
THERE SHALL BE ONLY ONE....
It's a pre-emptive strike to keep him out of the game.
The Goracle has become a libaility with his Religious environmentalism BS...
Is this not a great country or what. Where else could one make millions selling carbon offset credit gift certificates to the gullible.
"Does this guy look like a faggot, or what?"
OOPS!!
REHAB FOR YOU!!!!!
BTTT
It looks like he stopped working out after he lost the election in 2000.
