Nervous Jersey Parents Will Soon Be Able To Track The Movements Of Their Kids

Nervous Jersey Parents Will Soon Be Able To Track The Movements Of Their Kids - With GPS Chips In Their Sneakers

Monitoring the kids and keeping them safe can sometimes be very challenging - and in today's post 9/11 world it can also be nerve-racking for parents - but high-tech help is right around the corner.

Security expert Vincent Bove says soon, Jersey moms and dads will be able to keep track of the little ones with "global positioning device systems that could even be implanted in sneakers - or into back packs - where individuals can be tracked down."

He says this technology will help parents keep their kids safe - no matter what happens "whether it be an act of terrorism, whether it be a fire, or an act of violence that spills over into a school or a nursery center."

Bove adds "any system that's developed that is care-free - when it's maintenance-free, and when it's easily used- that is advantageous to young people."

Some of these child-watching gizmos - including ones that automatically send location information to a parents computer or cell phone - have already been introduced in Japan.

Get them used to being tracked and spied upon when they're young...after all, it's "for the children." They won't protest when it's the Fed watching them do everything including visit the bathroom when they get older.

Except for the one thing the parents are buying the chip to protect junior from: abduction. Perps will be sure to dump shoes and backpacks first off.

The FED?! Are you kidding?! It'll be decades before the federal government can sell something like this. New Jersey will probably make in mandatory for all kids in public schools inside of three years.

In NJ, those in government never hesitate to take the opportunity to remind us who our masters are.

Why wouldn't the perps be able to track a child for abduction?

I don't know how I feel about this. I don't think I want to have a tracking device on my child yet.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your question, but I would believe that tracking information would be password protected somehow, and thus only available to parents and law enforcement.

But I have to say - I don't have a "criminal" mind...I'm often very surprised at what some people come up with as far as their "creativity" in breaking the law. And yet, the first thing I thought of is if I were to want to get away with a child, I'd either leave the shoes, or have someone take them in the opposite direction from where I was going. It's almost doomed to fail, which makes me think it's going to be used in a push to have the chips implanted.

Password protection is just a 'feel good' thing for a user.

I don't feel good about this at all. We have people associated with pedophilia implementing tracking devices for children.

Nope. I'm past not feeling good about this. I'm heading into outrage.

The sneakers work when the wearer presses a button on the shoe to activate the GPS. A wireless alert detailing the location is sent to a 24-hour monitoring service that costs an additional US$19.95 a month.

And when Johnnie and Judy want to "do their ownn thing," they swap shoes/back packs or what with Billy and Betty. Billy and Betty send the signals from the proper locations.

I am sitting here with my Goddaughter. She has a question I wonder if you know the answer to. The house she is currently renting has a sex offender in the neighborhood. She was not aware of it and now the house is for sale. Do you know if the seller or real estate agent has to disclose this to a buyer? Her landlord didn't advise her of the fact until after she moved in. This guy is not on her block but a few blocks away and was convicted of molesting children under the age of 13 yrs old.

Yes, which is exactly why after a few tear-jerking episodes (that are well publicized) it will quickly move to implanting the chips 'for the children.'

That is a good question.

Send one of these people an email and ask. I would like to know that too if you find out.

If they don't know, ask them how you can find that out.
