Peace activists (Code Pink) to rally at Pelosi's San Francisco home

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- A few dozen peace activists marched across the Golden Gate Bridge and gathered outside the San Francisco home of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Sunday, demanding that Congress stop funding the war in Iraq.

"San Francisco has been against this war from the very beginning," said Toby Blome, a physical therapist who organized the event. "This is our fifth year of the war, and Nancy needs to wake up and represent San Franciscans."

Blome, holding a plate of cheese and bread and a glass of wine, was stopped on her way to Pelosi's front door and told the Speaker would not see them. Blom and about ten other activists said they plan to camp outside the residence overnight.

"Speaker Pelosi shares the concerns of the protesters about the disastrous war in Iraq. The Speaker has put the House of Representatives on course to chart a new direction for the American people and the war in Iraq," said Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill, in a statement.

FReepers know the article is talking about "Code Pink", but the AP doesn't mention the name of the pro-socialist, pro-terrorist group. Anyone surprised?

This is as good as last week's "caught on tape" episode with David Obey lecturing some "idiot liberals" who keep pressing them to defund the war.

I "am offended" by the words "peace activists." They are surrender activists. They have never protested one activity of any of America's enemies or adversaries.

Our community weekly newspaper did a page and a half article "National anti-war movement hits close to home" about a woman from Baltimore who was arrested after her participation in a similar 'activity' at Senator Barbara Mikulski's office. The reporter did not use one word of criticism of the protester's beliefs or activities. The reporting was as neutral as if she was trying to win a contest for neutral writing.

Hampcen resident Kristin Sundell, 34, told the reporter that she has been arrested about 5 times in the past 10 years and continues to protest about 3-4 times a year with the blessing of her husband and her employer.

I wonder which strategists have decided that protesting in front of Democrat politicians is an effective strategy? It certainly is curious.

It is photoshopped as far as the pink sign is concerned and maybe even the lettering on the dress (although it's a really good job if it is).

As to the gut, dunno for certain (I do a fair amount of PhotoShop work), but my guess is that it's real.
