I am hoping that there will also be a LIVE thread on the day of the protests...so we can be kept up on what is happening.I hope so too. During one event we had a live thread going and someone in DC was monitoring it. I saw Kristinn go to the mic for an introduction and typed in "Someone get to Kristinn and tell him to tuck in his shirt tail." Almost immediately, I saw someone go over to him and the shirt tail was quickly made right. Felt like I was right there. LOLOL. We can be of use even if we can't go.

Wait... isn't Peter Pan the one that gave everyone (including two of my co-workers) salmonella food poisoning in the last month or so?
Watch out, everybody. Rodguy911 is engaging in biological warfare!

There are no Kurds nor oil in the former Yugoslavia. That's a bit too complicated for poor ol' Joe. He just wants simple, two or three-syllable sound bites that can be comprehended by the average moron and make him sound as if he knows something about the situation (he thinks).

thanks, and I'd be willing to bet that those three Liberal enclaves would be down to an air force of Cessnas and private jets and a navy of yachts, pontoon boats, and Boston whalers within six months.

Oh...yeah, I think I remember that.
Hopefully, we can find someone who will be monitoring it by phone, and can relay messages!!
I just PRAY that those that do go know that there are those of us out here that appreciate what they are doing, and would LOVE to be there with them.
I just have no choice but to stay home at this time..but, I will be there in spririt.

My mother used to make a big ole baking dish of homemade macaroni and cheese and it was good...but, I liked it when she took the leftovers and fried it until crispy, and I would put ketchup on it....YUMMY!!!That sounds like the "fried Macaroni and Cheese" mentioned in the Alton Brown recipe, which I assume is the second recipe he provided a link for:
Next Day Mac and Cheese "Toast"
|
|
|
Leftover baked macaroni and cheese, refrigerated for at least overnight 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon pepper 1 teaspoon cayenne 1 egg beaten with 2 ounces water 1 cup panko bread crumbs Oil for deep frying, preheated to 375 degreesCut refrigerated macaroni and cheese into slices or bite size pieces. Season the flour with salt, pepper and cayenne. Dredge each piece through the flour and gently tap off excess. Dip in the egg wash and then coat with the bread crumbs. Allow them to rest for 5 minutes so the crust can set. Very carefully drop into the oil and fry until golden brown. Remove to a baking sheet fitted with a rack and rest for 2 minutes before serving. |

"Next day peanut butter and jelly sandwich"
Take a metal spatula and scrape what is left over off the floor after you stomped on the sandwich.
Eat be merry.

Oh..no, that is "gourmet" fried mac and cheese.
My Mom was a country cook...she just threw that bunch of cold macaroni of cheese into a skillet with a little bit of milk, and fried, stirring frequently, until browned.
