The chairman of Boston University's religion department offers this proposal: Public high schools should require one course in the Bible for all their students and another in world religions
He cites surveys showing that most Americans can't even name one of the four biblical gospels and that many high school students think that Sodom and Gomorrah were a married couple.

You are missing the point. It IS Your responsibility to do as you said...A LOT DO NOT. And you have accepted it with me in that we have not done what is necessary to stop these people from teaching such things. And if you BOTHER to look ate the many times when concerned parents LOST when they tried you would not speak so quickly.

Take a look at what it got one father. Its a serious issue and you ought to join in...not nay-say from the sidelines.

If this is true, what are they teaching in Sunday schools? Jews and Christians should know Sodom and Gomorrah are vanquished places names. The Protestant and Catholics should be able to name the gospels. Is everybody now a unitarian universalist? The believe in some sort or spirit, group hug type. I know they shudder at the thought of a Judeo-Christian God and snicker at Christ. They wouldn't know a Gospel from gossip.

Special rights for anybody are contrary to the equal protection amendment.
>>From a secular view sodomy doesn't make sense either. <<
If you can do it without being too graphic, I'd be curious what you meant by that.

Apparently the failure of the nation's schools also applies to Sunday School.

No, Sodom is Gemorrah's "life partner".

First of all I'm Christian so I support Gods law (like my agreement is a requirement :) )
Sodomy is not a natural action. Disease is easily transmitted if either person is sick. Secondly it leads to injury and stretching of very sensitive parts. Third the area tends to be ripe with bacteria due to its designed purpose.
Just seems to me that that most people would say no if you asked them to do something that would make it painful to go bathroom, could make them very sick, and would expose them to another persons feces.

David Parker's troubles are of his own making. I'll give him the benefit for meaning well, although, the words "test case" come to mind when I hear his name.

Why would they think they were both guys. S*d*my refers to all sexual acts except coital sex between a male and female not closely related by blood.

Actually, to do this would require a course for each of the religions. If the bible gets a course devoted to it, then each of the others should have a course devoted to each, as they are just as important to the followers of their stories. Then again, not letting the camel stick it's nose under the tent in the first place, is probably the best policy. Public schools aren't the plcae for teaching religious texts, churches and homes are.

Isn't Boston College the University that grants doctoral theses to anyone who can plagiarize over 19 pages of their thesis?
