When the Dadaists displayed a urinal as "art" people thought it was shocking, and witty and oh-so modern.
But as soon as you define "art" as whatever is "shocking" and no longer require that the artist have any talent (Marcel Duchamp signed the urinal, but did not create anything), then it's just a matter of time before people start throwing feces like monkeys in the zoo and calling it "art".
I am not a fan of Modern Art. Sure, not all of it is crap -- but I'm convinced that in the future, the 20th century will not be considered a great period for art.

Things like this make it OK for us to mock and insult the French or anyone else in the world. Free speech is a double edged sword. Unless you're a liberal.

It sure does. Except people going to a GG Allin show generally knew what to expect. Somehow I don't think the people at this show were expecting this.

Audience member Ben Lemay said he can safely say he has never seen anything like it in Rapid City, or anyplace in the Midwest for that matter. Another burden of living in flyover country.

...shut down about a half hour into what was to be a 45-minute performance. Should have been shut down as soon as they started undresing.

I can safely say I've never heard of anything like this in eastern NC.
It would probably not even raise an eyebrow in Chapel Hill, though.

LOL haven't thought of that guy for years.

That's my first thought as well. I just couldn't remember his name.

performance artists? What the hell is a performance artist? I've seen street bums with better acts. This is just more proof that art has taken a major nosedive.
