Personally I think this is a non issue. I think the right black person can be elected president in a heartbeat. But I don't think someone of the race baiting Sharpton or Jackson model will EVER be elected president no matter what color their skin is.

It's not a question of race, it's question of integrity and policy, just like everyone else.

The United States is ready to have a president of African descent, the criteria for who should be president should be based on values and goals--if the candidate who embodies the most of those values and goals happens to be of African descent, then that candidate gets the vote.

A little bonus would be to rub it into other European-descent majority countries who accuse of the United States of being particularly racist, and some Latin American countries who usually vote in European descended candidates, even though such people make an easy minority of the country.

Although there are already cases of minority people group (race) leaders: Fujimori (Asian descent) in Peru; European descended leaders of South Africa during apartheid; almost Sonia Gandhi (Italian born) in India, etc. An African-descended (or non-European descended) leader could be the first for a European-descended majority nation, though.

I have no interest in the race of a candidate. It is irrelevant to me and most Americans. The left is stuck on the idea that America is a racist country and that Americans are racists who won't vote for Obama because he is black.
Get over it, lefties.
It's not about race. It's about his being extremely liberal.
Whenever anyone questions his qualifications, the left raises the "racist" accusation so as to silence discussion.

Why is a question like this asked in the first place? The real question should be: can liberalism allow any conservative black person to be elected president. Recall how the left treated Clarence Thomas during his confirmation hearings. The left, and many supporters of big and Bigger government could not bear to elect Dr. Walter Williams or Dr. Thomas Sowell, who are both competent and know the Constitution as well as economics.

Based on their actions, the above people are not black, in the way that this article implies. Black people who are not liberal are not black. This is because people who refuse to live on the liberal plantation are not fit for office.

If Ohio is any example, they overwhelmingly rejected an extremely qualified, educated, credentialed black conservative.

I wouldn't bet money on Obama. It might be Hillary/Obama, but I doubt it will be the other way around.
