Last time I checked George W Bush has not managed to overturn Roe V Wade. If Rudy names conservative judges you are a lot closer than with President Hillary.

Hillary recommend Ginsberg to her husband. Janet Reno was Hillary choice for AG.

---"Hillary recommend Ginsberg to her husband. Janet Reno was Hillary choice for AG."---

Rudy Giuliani also publicly came out in favor of Ginsberg, and called Ed Meese a "sleaze." Do we even need to get into his appointments as Mayor, his well-established Liberal judicial philosophy, or Liberal views on key laws of our day?

Either one gives us Pro-Roe judges, Rudy just ensures we get them for eights years, instead of the possibility of limiting our losses to four.

Good post. Rudy right now is the smart pick for our side to win next year. And that's what it's all about.

interesting comments. he is going to have to be more forthcoming with some of that (mind you, I say this as someone who likes him). for example, he is going to have to explain how he can personally be politically pro-choice, while supporting originalist judges. what would he say if his SCOTUS appointment was the 5th vote to toss Roe? in other words, he has to be willing to say that abortion would be tossed back to the states. on gay civil unions, its true that the states that want it can have it, but Rudy also has to say that the states that decide they do not want it, will not have to fear coercion from the federal government to accept it.

Rudi or McCain. Is this the best we can do? I wouldn't vote for either in a general.

Well, I suppose now 55% of the folks don't know his positions on guns and dressing like a woman and so forth. That number just seems to be going higher and higher every week. What's up, is the electorate becoming more and more ignorant?

Meanwhile, over on the Duncan Hunter threads, crickets are chirping.

This part of the WSJ article is absolutely true:

"They need to rebrand McCain," one adviser said yesterday, harking back to the independent streak the Arizonan displayed with his 2000 "Straight Talk Express."

McCain gave up his old outsider image for one as an insider, and that might have been fatal for his presidential hopes.

Giuliani, by contrast, has exactly the image he wants - strong leader, 9/11 hero, tough, successful political executive. The nomination is his to lose - I don't see anyone else taking it away from him. Only Giuliani can beat Giuliani, and he does have a temper.

Rudi or McCain. Is this the best we can do?

I've been saying for years now that this country is toast. If McCain or Rudi is the best the GOP can do, I guess it's going to be over sooner than I thought.

These polls are bound and determined that the Republican nominee is going to be RINO McCain or RINO Rudy . I detest how the MSM is trying to force feed us these two phonies .

unning vicariously, as we have argued, has its risks.

What was supposed to be Hollywood propaganda to make a hillary presidency marginally palatable has instead become a parable about missus clinton's own dystopian future.

ABC announced the other day that it is pulling "Commander-in-Chief" off the air "until spring." Missus clinton's proxy presidency, you see, has been in a ratings free fall ever since "American Idol" took it on.

In a perverse life-mirrors-art moment, support for the real-life missus clinton's presidency has plummeted, too. This even sans Rudy, her real-life "American Idol" opponent.

States' rights is his motivation, and it is huge for conservatives. IF we had a Supreme Court that respected states' rights, then the issues of abortion and civil unions could be dealt with effectively. I think Giuliani is trying to communicate this.

Let's not kid ourselves. There are dozens of abortion-related issues that work their way through Congress and when a pro-abort like Bill Clinton is Prez, MORE BABIES DIE. (This, independent of whether or how many women or girls decide to have an abortion...)
