We should be honest over Sports Illustrated. Over the past five years...they have irritated readers more than they have attracted readers. Lets us guess that yes...they lose 8 percent of their readers...and they figure it was worth it (that is environmental lack of economic understanding that makes an illogic choice as such).

A number of publications...from Arizona Highways...to Nat'l Geographic...are "green" today. Most of their articles are written by non-journalist types...you can read the material and tell. So the staffs are taking on environmental science folks and converting over to journalists.

How should we react? Pepper the SI management with questions. First...does the juiced-up Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa put out more green-house gases than then the non-juiced-up guys? Second....can we buy carbon credits via the Packers reservation sales? Third....can we halt Monday night football...to save energy...and just play the game at 2pm on Monday afternoon? Can we shut off the heat to all of the domed facilities in the name of Al Gore? Lastly...can we cut back the number of pages in SI to 16 in the interest of saving the national forests (a true environmental nut would say yes...and help heal a nation)?

That is the first thing I asked. But the teller said that I signed up at a football game. I'm assuming she meant the superbowl. But my friend who went with me and I don't remember signing up for sports illustrated. I'm guessing my name somehow got sold to someone.

It's the standard, get 10 issues then pay the bill! Either way I was more outraged of getting the magazine unordered than the insane global warming crap. Like I said I wouldn't pay a dime for a Time Warner publication.

This issue, thankfully, will help further their already-dwindling subscriber base and I predict they will suffer many more cancellations to their sorry-a@% magazine. There are plenty of other sports-related publications, such as the Sporting News and many others who do a great job of covering sports. SI is a dying magazine which is full of liberall a__holes like Rick Reilly who once called Rush Limbaugh a racist and now this trash journalist liberal who writes this latest global warming tripe in their current issue.

My guess is most sports fans lean more conservative-moderate and won't stand for has-been magazines like SI.

Bump all of that, MM. And it's as though none of the dimbulbs were at the very least ever taught anything about just how much of the US was at one time underneath the ice shelf. Didn't we learn that in grade school?

Holy Jeeze. Do these idiots really think that people who watch football games on the weekend are going to give a rat's ass about how many carbons they use making popcorn, hot dogs or whatever?
