I heard this on the radio yesterday, and can't quote it exact, but Joe Wilson said, referring to Scooter Libby and how he was the "small fish" in a hunt for Cheney and Bush, said something about "those in history who have been convicted of perjury, but were guilty of much larger crimes, like Richard Nixon or Alger Hiss.
Did anyone else hear this and have the exact quotation?
It strikes me as telling that the libs now inadvertenly admit that Alger Hiss was a traitor, and I'd like to have the actual quotation.
Joe Wilson:
Convicting [Libby] of perjury was like convicting Al Capone of tax evasion or Alger Hiss of perjury. It doesn't mean they were not guilty of other crimes.
Absolutely and totally agree. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
Wilson is a Republican. He only broke with the GOP over the war. So it's no surprise that he admits that Hiss was indeed a traitor.
Must have missed it - when was Nixon convicted of perjury?
Here is another telling comment by that lowlife. Funny how the press ignores it--including CNN, which still calls her covert to this day.
Wilson deserves NO support. He is a professional LIAR and media whore. And if anyone should have gone to trial, it was HIM.
Where did you get that piece of disinformation?
How the heck does a guy get convicted when no crime was comitted?!
SHE WASN'T AN OPERATIVE!!!
SHE FINAGLED HER HUSBAND'S TRIP!!!
and THEE WAS YELLOW CAKE!!!
Ruefully
A rather odd "Republican", don't you think?
While it's true that Wilson received appointments from the first Bush administration, he was a long-time Foreign Service hack before he rose to that level via seniority. And, in the Foreign Service, "Republicans" are an endangered species.
All of which is to say: I have reasonable doubts about your characterization of Wilson as a "Republican" and would appreciate a source reference.
LOL....Please not the sex habits. Just the thought of Matthews naked makes me ill.
Clarice Feldman at The American Thinker is right: The Bush Administration oughta get some stones and declassify bot the original request by the CIA for the DOJ to investigate, and also Valerie Plame's CIA file.
Think they got the balls to do it?

I don't think so.
Source?
Nothing that Joe wilson says is worth as much as a pile of horse s**t.
You're wrong about this. While Wilson was born into a Republican household and has relatives who were Republicans, he formed his liberal stance at the University of California in Santa Barbara where he was involved in anti-war demonstrations during the Vietnam War. He's been a liberal ever since, and was appalled when the Supreme Court stopped the counting of the chads in Florida in 2000.
Wow. Beat me by 4 seconds.
