But there are no places in Hagel for metaphor. His face is too meaty for poetics, its tectonics shaped by old football injuries and one horrible day in the Mekong Delta when the flesh of it bubbled and burned. His sentences are too often arrhythmic, breaking in the middle, when what he's saying takes an unexpected turn that seems to startle him most of all.
"The president says, 'I don't care.' He's not accountable anymore," Hagel says, measuring his words by the syllable and his syllables almost by the letter. "He's not accountable anymore, which isn't totally true. You can impeach him, and before this is over, you might see calls for his impeachment. I don't know. It depends how this goes."

Impeach Hagel.
That man isn't worth reading a 4 page article about.
What a sleaze he's turned out to be. Would that the anti-Rudy crowd would turn their venom on him.
Big deal. Dems have been calling for President Bush's impeachment since he was elected.
You have to wonder if this author laughed when he wrote this line...
Hagel is a worthless piece of crap.

I haven't seen a copy of Esquire since I was a teen - at the time the rest of the content was too bad to make for the occasional nude picture.
Where has Hagel had his head? Calls for Impeachment have been ongoing ever since he was sworn in.
He and the other turncoats in our congress are the very reason I no longer contribute to the Republican Party. My money will never go to a Hagel, McCain, Lott, Snowe, Specter, Collins, or any of the others that decided to work against this administration instead of pushing through our agenda.
As far as I am concerned, we do not have ANY on our team in Washington other than the Bush administration.
What good did it do us to give the Republican Party money when it went to the likes of these weak turncoats?
I thought they were supposed to solve our problems, immigration, social security, etc., but all we get for our tax dollars are political maneuverings for their own gain, attacks against this president and his efforts to defend us, and we enabled them to socialize with their "friends across the aisle"-on our tax dollars and donations for the conservatives.
A bunch of political hacks - nothing more. Just seeking to get access to the "goodies" up there including the lifetime salary for doing absolutely nothing of any value.
I have really progressed from being willing to work and donate to absolutely giving up and giving it to the democrats. Apparently, that is the way our congress likes it, doing the bidding of the democrats.
Wake up, Nebraska!
One thing you can say for the Democrats, they know how to use (and abuse) their power. They aren't the power for power's sake crowd. They actually have things they want to accomplish, unlike the Republicans.
Hagel is a traitor.
The rapier is more silver than the moon. The horse, red eyed and fierce in the California night, is rearing up, and its rider points his sword toward the sky, and its tip seems to touch the lunar surface, dimpling it further between the craters.
When a political article starts like this, where can it go?
Freaking Democrats have been calling for Bush's Impeachment since the 2000 election. I'm so sick of them. It's all about revenge for Clinton and nothing more!
It's OK he just wants some attention.
Turning on Hagel would be too obvious for the anti-Rudy crowd. They don't care about national security, domestic or foreign, they only care about abortion and personal relationships. Hagel is bought and paid for by the same Middleeasterners who are associated with Joe Wilson, Alamoudi and Abdurham (sp?). The Muslims even set up and funded Hagel's PAC, Sandhills. They also have funded and directed every trip to the Middle East that Hagel has taken. I don't know what Hagel's motivation is, I don't know whether he is just nuts, or if he is being blackmailed, or if he is truly a traitor. But whatever he is, it's not good.
