KEWL! Thanks! I believe they have seven tracks there, and they have their own Metro Police station, and something is always going on there, 24/7. Seeing it from the air is cool, but taking the tour and learning all the stuff that is exclusive to this place is quite an experience.

Hey buddy,
Is that "Free 14 Day Trial" for Trackpass worth the bother? Or will I likely spend more time fiddling with it than watching the race?

1986 #3 Wrangler Monte Carlo - "Seems like its always raining there
its the old track and its muddy
Dale is screamin
I cans see anything. Richard (Childress) tells him to stay out we dont want to lose position. Dale says Hang on, Ill be off radio a few minutes. And then you see the fans in the stands and he comes around the turn with his butt out the window and cleaning off the windshield
that was one of the coolest things
we did so many cool things
its hard to pull out just a few
it just shows
whatever it takes
were comin out to win." - Chocolate Myers
1987 #3 Wrangler Monte Carlo - It shows what a thing we had
he made up his mind he was going to win
he does whatever it takes
it shows what a deal this team was
It was really not a pass in the grass it was a spin in the grass
. Bill had touched him and put him out but never checked
Dale was not quite The Intimidator yet
but he went in the grass and won
one of the reasons were filling up the grandstands today
a moment in history. That day he showed them who was best." - Chocolate Myers
1990 #3 Goodwrench Lumina - "We went to Dover and blew up an engine
broke a camshaft and we didnt even know
we didnt hear it, but he knew
he told us
he felt it. Later they told the story that his daddy (Ralph Earnhardt) told him to wear thin soled shoes to feel the engine
but he could, he could feel the car
Those were the days you went with everything in the trailer
when you could change engines
and we took it and built it from scratch
we were all dirty and full of oil and dirt but we built it and ran it again. We were going to have that car on the track whatever it took
we werent just dedicated
we never quit
it wound up blowin again cos he ran it too hard
but that race probably helped up win the championship
we just never gave up
" - Chocolate Myers
1994 Seven-Time Champ Goodwrench Lumina - "We won em two years in a row and then wed have a little off year. We won 7
it could have been 14 just as easy
we were so close a lot of times
but to win that and go down and be a part of it
its a big deal
we were so fortunate to do what we did
there were other people workin just as hard out there
but they never made it to Victory Circle
but we had Dale
we just loved what we did
and then go to New York and get recognized
that was just cool
. but we worked hard we deserved to be there. He couldve won a lot more, thats just how good he was. The last one was just as special as the first." - Chocolate Myers

Blue Man Group, Uncle Kracker headline NASCAR Weekend entertainment
Tuesday, March 6, 2007
The world-famous Blue Man Group and recording star Uncle Kracker are just two of the entertainment options Las Vegas Motor Speedway will be offering to race fans during the March 9-11 NASCAR Weekend.
Blue Man Group, which performs nightly at The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino will perform throughout the day Saturday and Sunday in the Neon Garage and put on a 17-minute show on the pre-race stage prior to the start of Sunday's UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400.
Uncle Kracker, famous for his remake of Dobie Gray's "Drift Away" and his duet with Kenny Chesney ("When the Sun Goes Down") will play at 11:30 a.m. on the Garnier Fructis Stage in the speedway's midway on Sunday.
Sierra Boggess and Darryl Worley will sing the National Anthem on Sunday and Saturday respectively.
Boggess, who plays the lead of Christine in Phantom! at The Venetian, is an accomplished stage performer having joined the production after appearing on Broadway's national tour of Les Miserables. Worley, who is best known for his country hits "Have You Forgotten" following the 9-11 tragedy, will be performing after Saturday's Sam's Town 300 at the Fremont Street Experience.
The United States Air Force Thunderbirds, who are based at nearby Nellis Air Force Base, will provide a unique flyover for Sunday's UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400. A pair of F-16s from the 64th Aggressor Squadron from Nellis will provide the flyover for Saturday.

Or will I likely spend more time fiddling with it than watching the race? Hiya. I may have tried it once, but I forget. Others on the thread are savvy about that. It's more than I can do to run one TeeVee, one radio and one computer during a race.

Carl Edwards, Michael Waltrip, Rusty Wallace, Clint Bowyer and Shane Huffman to appear at Speedway Children's Charities Driver Auction March 8 at Sam's Town Monday, March 5, 2007
The Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities will hold its annual NASCAR Driver Auction at Sam's Town Live!, inside Sam's Town Hotel & Gambling Hall in Las Vegas on Thursday, March 8, at 6 p.m.
NASCAR Nextel Cup Series drivers Carl Edwards, Michael Waltrip, Rusty Wallace (retired), Clint Bowyer and Shane Huffman are scheduled to appear at the annual fundraiser to benefit the children of Las Vegas and Southern Nevada. Fans will have the opportunity to bid on a ride around the speedway in a convertible with their favorite NASCAR Nextel Cup Series star during driver introductions prior to the start of the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday, March 11. Fans also will have the opportunity to ride with their favorite NASCAR Busch Series driver during pre-race parade ceremonies prior to the start of the Sam's Town 300 on Saturday, March 10.
Racing artists Sam Bass and Dino Estrada, as well as artist Haiyan Wang will be on hand to auction off several pieces of their personal work, respectively. Wang, of Pop Art International in New York, and Estrada, of the Art of Racing in California, also will be selling autographed prints of their work throughout the evening. Several other surprises are in store for event attendees.
Last year, more than $160,000 was raised for the children of Las Vegas and southern Nevada. The event also features a silent auction with a variety of racing and non-racing items to bid on, including autographed team uniforms, race car sheetmetal and tickets to various shows in the Las Vegas area.
All proceeds will go to The Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities, which supports the increased quality of life for the children of southern Nevada. Last December, The Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities granted $299,000 to 64 local children's causes during its annual grant distribution ceremony.
Advance sales have been brisk, but tickets for the event still are available at $35 and may be purchased at www.tickets.com. For more information please call (702) 450-8300 or (702) 632-8242. Speedway Children's Charities (www.speedwaycharities.org) is a non-profit foundation based in Charlotte, N.C., that distributes funds to charities and foundations providing medical, emotional and social services to children in need. Founded in 1984 by O. Bruton Smith, chief executive officer of Speedway Motorsports, Inc., Speedway Children's Charities has grown into a national foundation with chapters located at each of the six Speedway Motorsports Inc., facilities, including Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif., Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway, Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, N.C., Texas Motor Speedway in Dallas-Ft. Worth and Atlanta Motor Speedway. Each chapter's objective is to assist as many children as possible.
