HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING

He lied, apparently to save his job, thinking that blaming it on the press would save him because the press wouldnt give up their source. A little clever by too much.

Yep, he said the jury wanted to know why Rove wasn't on trial.

Oh, I'm sorry - I thought the complaint I was responding to was the old 'no underlying crime' song.

If you want to now jump to the 'everybody forgot things' saw, then we may as well take perjury off the books because there will never be a trial with witnesses who haven't forgotten things.

NINE people had conversations with Libby. We know he knew about Plame. If he had done what Rove did, and corrected his story before the GJ, he never would've been prosecuted. He played with fire instead.

This is just incredible. I keep having to pick up my jaw from the desk, and put it back in place.

Has this guy lost all his marbles?

"As hubby just said to me: These d*%^ people leak and lie NATIONAL SECRETS TO TERRORISTS all day long and nothing ever happens."

EXACTLY what my daughter and I were saying.

We should not be surprised fellow freepers. This is a D.C jury filled of left wing lunatics and the verdict against Libby was expected to be “guilty”. What a travesty of a case and trial!

Libby has 18 months before Bush leaves office. W will do the right thing on this given how bogus this whole thing was. He could not (and should not) have interfered with an ongoing trial. That would be what I would consider an impeachable offense.

The pardon is in his power to grant.

Dennis Colins.

He was kind enough to tell the reporters "it's with one N."

That RAT juror is a former WA Post reporter. His remarks are exactly what I predicted. I have been guessing that this reporter was filling in the blanks in Fitzgerald's prosecution for the rest of the jurors. This was a media generated case and they even got one of their own on the jury. A travesty.

If this case doesn't motivate the conservative base to take back control of the government from the post modern, fascist Democrats, I don't know what will become of this country.

By the way, is there any chance that the former WA PO reporter is also Gay? I only ask because the Gays are so rabid in their hate of the Bush administration.

The prosecution was clearly to try to extract some---ANY---information about Cheney or Rove. BUT LIBBY'S IDIOT LAWYER played right along, saying Libby was a fall guy for his boss. Are you kidding me? It was a weak, pathetic strategy from the beginning, whether or not Libby actually lied about anything---and that's a point none of us will ever know.

"could be great material for appeal, documenting how Fitzfong improperly prejudiced a biased jury with drivel about a "conspiracy" which was never charged and for which absolutely no trial evidence was presented!!!!"

Great point!

"Fitz says he doesn't expect to file any other charges"

I wouldn't trust anything Fitzgerald says. He's probably already got the Cheney indictment 90 percent complete, only needing the guilty verdict and the leverage it provides over Libby to fill in the few remaining blanks. His lie about not pursuing further charges is probably intended to keep the shredders in offices all over DC from kicking into hyperdrive (not that this would really happen, but this is how Dims think).
