Please vote against Senate Bill 16. This will do more to make criminals out of law-abiding citizens that it will ever do to keep real criminals from misusing guns. Criminals who are intent on robbery, rape and murder don’t give much consideration to gun laws.

I will pay close attention to your vote on this matter when I consider who I will be voting for in the 2008 elections.

If passed, you would have 90 days to register your guns with the State Police or face arrest and felony prosecution.

If you were caught with an AR-15 and 4 magazines, you’d get life in prison.

Which means that people will convert to full auto machineguns as there is no difference in the penalties for ownership.
