50 per cent of respondents in New Jersey would support Giuliani in a head-to-head contest against Democratic New York senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.

In other match-ups, Giuliani holds an 11-point advantage over Illinois senator Barack Obama. Arizona senator John McCain is tied with Rodham Clinton at 45 per cent, and trails Obama by four points.

In 2004, Democratic nominee John Kerry carried New Jersey’s 15 electoral votes, with 53 per cent of the vote. No Republican has won the Garden State since George H. Bush in 1988.

If Rudy is doing so well in blue states -- no wonder the Hillary brigade is out having the MSM get out the message to divide conservatives.

TWO ways can Hillary win:

1. If Republicans nominate someone other than Giuliani

2. In a general election of Rudy vs. Hillary conservatives stay home or vote third party and help elect Hillary.

Rudy would get 350 electoral votes. Possibly 400.

Rudy's strong showing in the blue states also explains the nasty, stepped up anti-Rudy attacks by the Hitlery surrogates here on Freerepublic. It's not working.

I like Rudy, but I don't think #1 is true. If #2 happens, so be it. As long as people understand and are ready to bear the consequences, they should do whatever they think is the best for them.

It's interesting that the liberals are pointing out that Rudy is not a conservative.

They so want to win the White House...

Remember, you NEVER get everything you want in a deal... As long as you win more than 50%, you do it!

There have been polls matching the top 3 R candidates against the top 3 D ones. The other R candidates are even or behind the Dem ones.

As I said, Rudy is the only one who consistently beats all the top tier Dem candidates.

If Rudy takes NY (duh) but also the electoral votes from NJ....then Hitlery has to pick up [sweep?] a lot of southern states to make that difference up. No chance in hell that will happen.

Damn electoral college, no wonder the libs hate it.

Rudy also has an excellent chance of carrying CA, which would pretty much nail it.

I'm thinking we should just nominate Hillary since winning is all that matters.
