Iraqi Security Forces: al-Qaeda leader detained (The leader of the Islamic State in Iraq Captured)
DPA ^ | 4 March 2007

Posted on 03/04/2007 12:12:42 PM PST by jmc1969

A suspected leader of the group Islamic State in Iraq, which has ties to the al-Qaeda terrorist network, was detained in northern Iraq on Sunday, Iraqi security forces reported. Muharib Mohammed Abdullah, aka Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, was arrested in a joint raid by Iraqi and US soldiers in the city of Duluiya.

"This is a great success for the Iraqi security forces, comparable to the killing of Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi," the Salaheddin provincial administration in the town of Tikrit said in a statement.

Abdullah is a former legal expert from the city of Balad, north of Baghdad.

The Islamic State in Iraq organization claimed responsibility Saturday for the murder of 18 policemen.

Al-Zarqawi, the former leader of the al-Qaeda terrorist network in Iraq, was killed in the summer of 2006 by a US airstrike.

Thanks for the reference. Have not gone to the site for some time.
As the demos see the Iraqi are quite serious, it is going to become hard for the demorats and rinos to cut off any funding.
Guys like Biden shot their mouths off to much. Now they will have no excuse. The Iraqi are taking the lead.

"Al-Zarqawi, the former leader of the al-Qaeda terrorist network in Iraq, was killed in the summer of 2006 by a US airstrike."

If this report is true, Muharib Mohammed Abdullah, aka Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, had a very short term as the leader of al Qaeda in Iraq. al Qaeda doesn't have to worry about retirement plans, pensions or 401ks for its top serial Killers.

Below is a collage of the great moments last summer after The Z Pig was Zotted in a so called safe home in Iraq:

A quick Summary of Z Pig's last day and what his replacement, Abu Ayyub al-Masri will face:

Z Pig, Monster was betrayed by his closest allies (Zarqawi location tipped off by captured deputies) {Why the libs don't want WOT prisoners questioned!} Abu Ayyub al-Masri, which one of your closest allies will turn you in for the money that will be offered for your death?

"Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey...!"

Hi. My name is Abu Boohoo Zarqawi and I'm dead now.

Happy Iraqis celebrate the death of Z Pig:

Some more. "What is good for Americans and Iraqis, is bad for al Qaeda Serial Killers and their Democrat buddies..."

When the Z Pig entered hell, he found out that his 72 virgins were clones of Helen Thomas. They are having their way with him now.

Abu Ayyub al-Masri, son of a pig wants to be the next Z Pig? Abu Ayyub al-Masri, our warriors will find your "Safe House" after your buddies roll over on you. Then our warriors will send you to hell to be with the original Z pig! Your 72 Helen Thomas Virgins are waiting for you.

No Problem! Here comes your Bomb!

Abu Ayyub al-Masri and other Z Pig replacements! Enjoy your eternity in hell with your special 72 virgins!

Hang in there beloved Zarkman. I will be joining you in hell soon! Love Cindy!

Thanks for posting this possible link between the two captures.

Whenever, a of the top al Qaeda serial killers gets caught or killed, we often see a massive number subsequent captures and killing of other al Qaeda leaders. Maybe we will hear of a similiar massive capture and killing of al Qaeda serial killer leaders in Iraq.

IRAQ: TOP AL-QAEDA-LINKED INSURGENT ARRESTED

http://www.adnki.com/index_2Level_English.php?cat=Terrorism&loid=8.0.391860422&par=

Baghdad, 5 March (AKI) - The man considered the number two of "The Islamic State in Iraq" affiliated to al-Qaeda, has been arrested in Duluiya, 90 kilometres north of Baghdad, the Iraqi interior ministry said Monday. Abdullah Latif al-Jaburi - known by the alias Abu Abdullah - was picked up at the end of a blitz carried out by US and Iraqi forces on Sunday. Initially the Iraqi security forces thought they had captured Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, the head of the group established last year with the proclaimed aim of establishing an Islamic state in Iraq, bringing together various insurgency groups.
The Islamic State in Iraq organisation claimed responsibility Saturday for the killing of 18 kidnapped government security forces, in retaliation for the alleged rape of a Sunni woman by members of the Shiite-dominated police.

The group posted an online video of the men being shot in the back of their heads while kneeling in a field.

Thanks for the corrective post. At least we still got someone key to the ISI. One day soon we shall read about Baghdadi getting blown up during a precision air strike.

Can we get the headline adjusted to reflect that it was not the guy we thought it was,....it was his number two that was captured....

He is a lawyer to boot. Go figure.
